iZombie, Tuesdays in the US. First season was 13 episodes. No UK Broadcaster yet. 2nd season starte on Tuesday 6th October. Renewed for a 3rd season.

From the creator of Veronica Mars and Party Down and based on the shortlived DC/Vertigo comic book series, "Olivia 'Liv' Moore (Rose McIver, Masters of Sex, Once Upon a Time) was a disciplined, over-achieving medical resident who had her life path completely mapped out... until she is turned into a zombie. Now stuck somewhere between half-alive and undead, Liv loses her drive and ambition. She breaks off her engagement with charming soul mate Major (Robert Buckley, One Tree Hill), fearful of infecting him with her condition. Liv transfers her medical residency to the city morgue in order to access the only form of sustenance left available to her - the only thing that allows her to maintain her humanity - brains. There are side effects to Liv's new diet: With each brain Liv consumes, she experiences visions - flashes of the corpse's memories - which often provide clues as to how they were killed. Her boss, the brilliant but eccentric Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli), encourages her to embrace this gift and to work with unproven homicide detective, Clive Babineaux, (Malcolm Goodwin, True Blood), to help solve these murders. In doing so, Liv finds a measure of peace, and a new sense of purpose in what her 'life' has now become.

Reviews

A- AV Club
iZombie feeds the craving for quick wit left by Veronica Mars (and then some)

iZombie is another win for The CW.

IGN 8.4
Though there are brains and blood, iZombie doesn't focus on the gruesome parts of zombie-dom. They handle the zombie business like it's everyday business, which it is for Liv. It's apparent even in the way she eats brains. The no-nonsense approach combined with the charms and struggles of McIver's Liv make this a human, relatable story worth watching.

B+ Entertainment Weekly
While something of a Lady Frankenstein built from our best female-hero pop, iZombie nonetheless injects fresh life into the increasingly staid genre of supernatural TV.

B+ New York Times
The show probably doesn’t need to resort to voice-overs as often as it does, but it’s generally pretty smart, witty and well acted, and not afraid to turn dark on occasion. If it delves deeper into the stresses of being a law-abiding zombie as it goes along, while keeping its sense of humor, the ride will be pretty enjoyable.

Huffington Post
The good news is that this show's building blocks are very strong. The dialogue, the world and the cast are all enjoyable, and the show simply exudes potential. It also shares a good deal of DNA with The CW's superhero shows: Liv has a secret that she can't tell many people, and her loneliness and bravery make her plight quite relatable, even if she is a kind of on the dead side.

Love how they got Mike Allred (creator of the comic it's based on) to do the opening titles

If this were made by Apple you'd have to pay £20 per episode to watch it.

It's ok, I have the £60 HDMI adapter so I can watch it on my TV.

I liked the comic but I like Rob Thomas' shows anyway so I'll be happy no matter how faithful it is

Looking forward to watching this tomorrow

Apparently they've barely lifted anything from the comic other than the name, characters and basic concept.

Veronica Mars was strawberry floating quality so I'm hopeful.

Enjoyable start. The lead is great and her 2 sidekicks are good as well. Too early to tell for the rest of the cast.

Decent 2nd episode, surprised the other Zombie is not more blatantly evil.

Continuing to enjoy this show. This week the telling Major she's a Zombie fake out really fooled me.In previous weeks was very surprised they killed off the Zombie boyfriend.

I've recently watched the first two eps and it's alright so far. It's weird how much more attractive the lead is when she's wearing zombie makeup.

Very good finale to a strong debut season - Very surprised at the Major action scenes, they've done a good job with his character as the seasons progressed. Maybe the finale was a bit too rushed & we didn't see much of Liv & her bro interacting enough to make much of an impact.

Agree about her brother and Liv connection, the end still packed a punch as she is left helpless unless he gets her blood and becomes a zombie or she is responsible for his death.
