I think the first two I bought myself were the original PlayStation and the Gameboy Advance.

The last two were the Xbone and PS4.

First two I bought were a GBA with F-Zero and a Nintendo GameCube with Luigi's Mansion.

My latest two machines are the PS4 and JXD Portable and soon to have the Nintendo Switch.

Ok, I'm gonna cheat a bit and go with the first two that were bought for my brother and I when we were children:

Acorn Electron (sometime around 1985)
Had various arcade clones on it including Pac Man. Famously, it also had Elite. As I was so young, I used to just practise flying, turning around and landing back at the space port. Had no idea how to do anything else!

Commodore Amiga 500 (I'm guessing 1989).
Bought for us with Speedball, Sword of Sodon and F/A 18 Interceptor. I remember it well. Loved the Amiga. Had so many games for it and it seemed to gives us years of entertainment.

(my parents would also buys us a Megadrive and SNES as well as a pretty decent PC before I started using my own cash - we were lucky kids).

First two consoles bought with my own hard-earned cash:

PlayStation (1996)
Mainly for WipeOut 2097 but also bought it with Alien Trilogy and Tunnel B1. Bought on a bit of a whim as I had some cash from my Saturday job and I did not regret it! It's probably true to say if I hadn't bought this, I doubt I would have gotten back into gaming after the 16-bit era (which I had grown a bit bored of at the time).

N64 (1997)
Bought on release with Mario 64, Pilotwings and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. Happy days indeed!

Most recent two consoles:

Xbox One S (2016)
Bought along side a HDR 4K TV as a treat for myself after a long year saving loads for our wedding. Bought with Forza Horizon 3 for the HDR goodness. Great, well-designed console. After trading-in my old Xbox One I think I only paid about £80 for the upgrade.

PS4 Pro (2016)
Again, traded in my old PS4 to upgrade (cost me about £160 in the end). I didn't purchase this for any game in particular, but Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was the first game I played at length and it looks great on the Pro.

Sinclair ZX Spectrum 16k
My dad bought it when I was 11. It directly lead to my career choice.

First game was Hungry Horace. A belting little Pac Man clone. Favourite game Dragontorc.

It had various upgrades to Ram etc

Atari 520 STFm
Some great games. Speedball and Dungeon Master stand out.

Wii U
Underrated little machine, that is actually quite capable. Favourite games are ZombiU and Bayonetta 2.

Vita
Cracking little handheld, shame it didn't catch on as it could have been one of the all time great game machines.
Lots of cracking Indie games too many to pick out individuals. Some great stuff on PS Plus before I left it run out :(

First two I brought by myself were the Wii and 3DS.

The first two I ever played on where:

Amiga CD 32 (Dad owned one), my first ever video game was James Pond 2. He also brought a Game Gear which was my second ever console. My first game on that I believe was Sonic Chaos and I was too much of a nubbin to understand how the hell to beat it.
