We pay for Disney+ and share it with family in return for Prime. We used to get Netflix the same way until they (Netflix) cut us off without warning, so I've refused to sub since out of principle. I wouldn't be giving Disney or Amazon any money if it were my choice and think piracy of their content would actually be more ethical, but I know to pick my battles.

In general I agree with much of what has already been posted, the current situation is rubbish for consumers.

Cheeky Devlin wrote:...They've all strawberry floated it frankly. When it was just Netflix and Prime it was great, because WE were the customer. They wanted to get us all into their ecosystem and they did it. But now that they've got us, we're no longer the customer. It's the advertisers and the shareholders, so everything gets noticabley shiter in an attempt to create value for those banana splits...

I agree with this! Once they've got you signed up now, they soon start increasing the price and degrading the quality.

Cheeky Devlin wrote:...It'll correct itself over the next few years. We'll see some services die out and we'll be left with three or four that find a model that works for everyone...

I really hope so. Some major consolidation would be great for the consumer. Often, the more services the better but that hasn't really worked for streaming.

I said it before, but I'm loving Jawa's gradual conversion into a law breaking communist. :datass:

Cancelled Prime the other day, have a 3 month trial with Apple TV, and a reduced price clubcard points 6 month sub to Disney+. Can't access my parent's Netflix anymore.
Won't pay any more for any of the streaming services right now, will pick up another free trial for Apple TV when they offer it again.
Stream other movies and programmes to my TV with Plex

Only one we regularly pay for is Netflix but it's a legacy cheap (£5.99) SD option that they don't offer any more. So I'm reluctant to cancel and lose it, but often tempted. I hate that for 4k the price triples to £17.99, I won't pay that on principle even though I have an OLED and 1Gb fibre.

Occasionally I will buy a month of Prime, or get a free trial. I like that 4k is included but now they are including ads I am unlikely to buy it again.

I currently have a 5 month free trial of Apple+. Picture quality is great and they have some genuinely good TV shows, but very few movies. They don't update often enough for me to consider subscribing.

I'd cancel them all if the family in the house weren't using em.

I got one after getting Mario Wonder from Currys, didn't know it was an offer and had the email in my inbox like a month later.

Not sure if you still can, but the way we got a free trial was through PlayStation where it gave 6 months free.

Currys, Radio Times, O2, Virgin Media, Sky, Barclaycard, Barclays and PlayStation have all had AppleTV+ promotions running over the course of the last year. They can't be stacked and you do need to wait an unspecified amount of time before claiming again.

Sign up for free and you'll get 3 months of Apple+. It was five months when I did it a few weeks ago.

Had to cancel my Netflix sub as the email address linked to it no longer exists so I can't a) use Netflix on the TV, or b) change the email address as the verification code to do so goes to the nonexistent email address.

Will probably set up a new account soon though as there's a few things I want to watch.

That's because you cancelled 'Shopping in Gandy Street' after just 1 season.
