How many of the GOTYs have you played?

I saw this chart on X and thought it could be interesting to run it by GRcadians.

So, please complete and comment!

Green mark = I played this quite a lot
Blue mark = I played this a little bit
Nothing = I have not played this

I've not played too much of these, really. Some of those blue marks ("I have played a bit") are pretty generous. Looking at the games, the ones I'd really like to play are Skyrim, Fallout 4, Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring.

Literally played them all except for Diablo 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition.

To be honest, I think most people will have played most of them.

Maybe this isn't the place but whoever decided on a few of those really wasnt thinking very hard. 2000 was a cracking year for games across all platforms. On technical achievement alone Phantasy Star Online should probably have won it but we also had Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark etc.

I count 2003 as one of the greatest years in videogames and the best they could pull out of a hat was a pretty generic WW2 FPS? Not Wind Waker? KOTOR? BG&E?

I’ve played 19 of them, only really 1 of those would be a blue tick for me

Phantasy Star Online came out in 2001 outside Japan, no chance it would beat Halo.

I don't think there's much wrong with Call of Duty being considered the best game of 2003. Multiple campaigns, including the British and Russian squads, was a pretty unique feature at the time.

I've only played 11 of those.

Where's the list of games from? Plenty of better games for many of those years! Nice of them to use the cover of the wrong Half Life game as well :fp:

Fallout 4 would still sruggle to be the GOTY if it was the only game released that year! :lol:

My coverage:

The only ones I haven't touched at all are Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, and It Takes Two.

A fair few of the ones I have played though were nowhere near to completion. I mostly played them fast enough to get a good feel for them and they clearly weren't compelling me to play more.

I've really played very few of these. Completed everything in green, only played a small bit of blue:

Surprisingly for a list like this, I've played most of them. Haven't played Battlefield 1942 or Call of Duty 1 (though played plenty of other iterations in the series), wont ever touch The Sims and havent gotten around to It Takes Two, Journey and Baldur's Gate 3. I own the first two due to Gamepass/PS Plus, so may try them. One day.

I’ve played the lot, except BG3, and that’s just a case of not played it yet.

It really is a poor list. The Sims was released in 2000, so why is that representing 1999 (the year of Silent Hill and System Shock 2)?

Untitled Goose Game won out over Control, Death Stranding, Disco Elysium, and Outer Wilds. What a joke. :lol:
