I don't have a lot of experience with this but:

Best: Mario Kart 8 - loads of extra content for relatively little money.

Worst: Well not bad content but very confusing, the season pass for Driveclub. I bought it and had to fish through all the downloadable stuff to see what was included, downloading all the parts separately, and then found that there were parts that weren't included for no obvious reason. I bought it as soon as I bought the game because I'd heard great things, but actually I don't really know what was DLC and what was already there, plus I still seem to have a lot of PSN Store logos locking off content that I thought was included.

Maybe someone can clarify? Maybe this is totally normal when you buy a season pass late....

Best:

Witcher 3 - probably the best season pass ever, both DLCs were excellent and the second one could have easily been a standalone game
Mass Effect 2 Lair of the Shadow Broker
Dark Souls 1 Artorias of the Abyss
Dark Souls 2 Crown of the Sunken King, Old Iron King and Ivory King
Bloodborne Old Hunters
Mario Kart 8 DLC
Destiny The Taken King - more content than the vanilla game and changed a bunch of gameplay stuff.

Worst:

I usually don't buy DLC unless I know it's going to be excellent. Only duds are probably the Division season pass but I got that included in the gold edition I bought for the same price as the base game with a money off code from Amazon. The Dark Below from Destiny was ridiculous for what it was, content that had been cut from the main game to be sold as DLC and it could be completed really quickly.

Yeah, I think the confusion is due to picking it up quite a while after launch, Lime. I feel that the season pass was excellent in terms of adding cool new content (tons of stuff!) but, a while later, a raft of additional (fee payable) content was added and I can see that it must be confusing to more recent buyers.

If you go to the game page, access the "view all" DLC section and sort it into date order, you should find that all season pass content is grouped together behind the newer stuff.

That reminds me, I also bought the DLC for DriveClub (including bikes) and also the DLC for Warhawk that provided the 8 seater vehicle. I would say I played the DriveClub DLC the most so I guess that would be the "best". I didn't play the Warhawk DLC much (although my kids did) so I'll have to say that was the "worst". But all of it was good (and should have been included in the games to start with  )

Yes?

I would also have to go for the MK8 DLC as being the best i've purchased. Not sure about worst. Maybe Star Wars Battlefront.

The Castlevania Lords of Shadow DLC was pretty poor. Both packs were very short and if memory serves one was almost entirely puzzle based and one was almost entirely frustratingly hard combat.

In the good category I'm gonna throw in Resi 5 Lost in Nightmares.

Dying Light and Resogun both pretty good. My lad also reckons Hyrule Warriors.

Mario Kart 8 DLC.

Not paid DLC, but the stuff that was rolled out for Splatoon was kick ass. All the maps were great.
