She's Labour so I don't think she would have been in charge of the Home Office in the late 70s/early 80s.

I seem to remember Cal having a bee in his bonnet about Harman being a member or leader of a feminist group that invited the PIE in or allowed them to share resources (or something along those lines). I can’t see anything to link her to PIE and the Home Office though.

Paedophile group leader 'stored material at Home Office'

The former leader of a pro-paedophile campaign group claims he stored material at the Home Office, according to an account seen by the BBC. Steven Adrian Smith had clearance to work as an electrical contractor at the Westminster building in the late 1970s and early 1980s when he chaired the Paedophile Information Exchange. The Home Office declined to comment on Smith, who was jailed in 1991 and 2011. It said an inquiry into whether PIE received any public funds was ongoing.

I'd imagine bigger questions would need to be asked of whoever was running the home office then. Was Leon Brittain home sec at that point?

1983-1985 says Wikipedia, he was minister of state for the home office from 1979-1981 though.

So a tad OT, but this is pretty much the pedophile thread. I was watching Moonrise Kingdom, and it had a scene of two 12 year old kids kissing and groping each other. Are film makers allowed to do that? If you said, "Brb, I am just going to film 2 kids touching each other for a movie" I bet you would have the Police knocking on your door.

When I was watching Outnumbered, they said they can't even film the children for more than 50 minutes at a time (or something like that), yet putting minors into a sexual scene is fine?

They weren't just kissing (maybe a kiss and a "good ol feel" is one and the same to Skarjo, but generally it isn't). I am just curious, not running around upset over child abuse.
It was a comedy after all.

I don't remember anyone having a 'good ol feel'. I mean, there was a bit fumbling about but it was a story about 12 year olds in love.

I don't think Ian Watkins was watching with a semi.

BBC (I can't remember if it was 2 or 4) showed a late night film only recently. It was about a 10 year old girl who thought she was a boy. It was definitely not pornographic, but it wasn't shy of a bit of nudity. :dread: Those keraazy Scandinavians, eh? The film was made in 2011, btw.

Tomboy's a french film, it's even explicitly set in a suburb of Paris if the whole speaking French thing didn't make it clear enough

Bristol mum jailed for having sex with her 12-year-old son - while her partner watched
By The Bristol Post | Posted: August 05, 2014

A MOTHER had sex with her 12-year-old son while her abusive partner watched and coerced the pair on a webcam.

The 39-year-old woman was jailed for three years and three months after the shocking details of the case were revealed at Bristol Crown Court yesterday. But the man who appeared to instigate the horrific abuse is still at large because he is not in the UK.

Prosecuting, Mark Hollier, said the boy was 11 or 12 when the sordid incident took place at the family home in Bristol. It came to light when his mother was making a complaint at Next Link Domestic Abuse Services, in Queen Square, about her partner.

Mr Hollier said she "blurted" out that she had abused the elder of her two sons. Her confession was reported to Avon and Somerset police and she was taken to Southmead police station for questioning.

The boy was then interviewed about what happened.

Mr Hollier said: "In a very ordinary voice, he described an incident to the police officers about how his mother had given him a sex lesson in the main bedroom of the family home and this was observed by (the partner) via a webcam and computer link."

The court heard that the partner was watching from another country and that similar incidents had taken place abroad.

The boy described how he was directed to engage in sexual activity with his mum, before she performed a sexual act on him. He also told police that he could hear that she was being told what to do via earphones.

The mum was charged with engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a boy under 13, which she later admitted at court. Her two sons were taken into care by social services and are now living with a foster family.

The woman, who was in tears during much of yesterday's hearing, denied "volunteering" to have sex with her son.

Her barrister, Fiona Elder, said this was an "extremely unusual" case.

"She's absolutely devastated by the loss of the children and what she has done," she added.

A psychiatric report found the woman had a personality disorder which made her susceptible to being in abusive relationships and would become dependent on abusive partners, despite their treatment of her.

Miss Elder said her client was acting on instruction from her "highly destructive" partner.

Passing sentence, Judge Michael Longman said: "Your behaviour towards your son was contrary to human instincts and basic decency.

"It occurred after you met a man who clearly was controlling and over-bearing; a man who, it is also clear, should be prosecuted himself but is outside the jurisdiction and beyond the reach of this investigation. Even though he was at a distance from you, he continued to exert that influence, but you continued to behave towards your son in a way which, despite that pressure, your own instincts should have prevented."

As well as the prison sentence, Judge Longman imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order and ordered that the woman sign the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.

Police have been liaising with authorities in the other country, which cannot be named for legal reasons, to bring the man who ordered the abuse to justice.

I'm astonished she only got 3 years (likely to serve around 12 months) for something so horrific.

Lenient sentence because she was coerced by an evil man who wasn't even in the room. If only there was some way to say 'no', and not suck your son's dick.

I hope the police are following that lad carefully cos let's face it, he's not growing up without issues now.

BBC 1 Radio DJ Chris Denning pleads guilty.

Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Denning has pleaded guilty to a string of historical sex offences against boys.

The 73-year-old admitted 29 charges of abuse against boys aged between nine and 16, at Southwark Crown Court.

He denied 12 further charges and will face a trial beginning on 24 November at the same London court.

Denning, of Basildon in Essex, was charged as part of Operation Yewtree, which was set up in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.

The offences Denning admitted were committed between 1967 and 1984.

Denning has previous form, so this isn't that surprising.
