I guess some gamers view gaming in terms of ticking off a checklist of unique moments, which is fine. But there's also a way of approaching a game where the act of using the tools the game provides is itself an enjoyable experience.

I pumped 70 hours into Just Cause 2 even though I'd arguably seen everything unique the game had to offer in less than 10 hours. But the fun of continuing to play in the game world made the next 60 hours just as exciting, and no less worthy than the first 10.

I think some reviewers are far too rigid for my liking, only wanting to give up their time on uniqueness within a game. Much enjoyment in gaming comes from the general systems the gameplay provides. Largely comes down to approach I guess.

New nvidia drivers haven't done much for me other than increasing the minimum fps to the 50's, others may find them helpful.

I have been reading some sites and people are reporting that the new nvidia drivers have sorted the stuttering and some other issues that they had with the game.

Might be worth considering a G-sync monitor or a more powerful card. 1440p is very nice but significantly more hungry than 1080p.

Just unlocked nitrous for helicopters, because why wouldn't that be a thing?

Sorted out the resolution problem by altering a file but now it crashes after about 10 minutes of gameplay. :x :(

Have you tried disabling steam overlay (some have found that helps)? Latest drivers? (AMD users should use the latest beta drivers).

I haven't tried disabling the steam overlay but I updated my nvidia driver this afternoon.

Well the new nvidia drivers help, but I still had to run it at 900p with most things turned down/off and it still can't hit a consistent 60. However even if it could, the underlying game just isn't fun - I've done a lot of the starting missions with the new grapple, air drops etc, and blowing stuff up didn't bring a smile to my face or anything; just going through the motions of everything I did in JC2. I prefer Mad Max :|

strawberry float, I have already played this for 10 hours. I think I can say I'm having "fun".

Careful, it might be artificial fun.

I'm having a good time with this game. In terms of boring PC stuff I just set it to optimise in Nvidia experience and get about 75FPS.

I really like the new grapple tether mechanic. Also captured a tractor to the garage. :)

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

PC gaming sounds awesome..

Disappointing news that another fairly high profile release doesn't run too well on current hardware. Enjoyed JC2 but with current issues and no MP this is looking like a bargain basement pickup.

The wingsuit is a blast.

For those on the fence I would wait, give it as few patches then dip in. I haven't had this much mindless fun in some time, hell saints row 4 didn't even scratch that itch.

The wingsuit doesn't seem as good as the one in Far Cry. You seem to drop a bit faster and have to keep tethering and parachuting to keep it up, but it's definitely good fun.

Probably going to make the jump to PC over the weekend.

I don't see why they didn't just go all out with the mods and have infinite tethers, grenades and ammo. Although as I've typed that, I've realised it's probably because limited ammo, 3 grenades and 2 tethers are enough to turn things into a slideshow on consoles.
