I thought the shitty music (and I like metal) was an integral part of the experience.

As Brer said, this is way different to L4D - the money system is absolutely integral, making it play a bit like Counterstrike in some respects - knowing what to buy and when.

Plus they're not zombies - they're clones made by an evil corporation, hence why all the grafted-on gooseberry fool on the fleshpound, husk, siren and the like. Which also explains how when they're butt-naked they don't have dicks flopping about all over the place.

Turn the music off and instead be soothed by the dulcet tones of captain Kim slowly losing his mind. If I can run a server on the same steam account as I want to play it on then I'll give it a go.

I think this is a game you have to play with some mates to have it click. Watching videos and playing solo won't sell you on it.

I understand that the music suits the mood of the game, its just not my cup of tea, id be as turned off it was dubstep. :dread:

The weapons and effects are lush, I just found the setting (in stream I seen) at odds with the crazy Doom like mental zombies. Running about the streets of Paris and its underground railway looked stunning and the actual gameplay looks ace. I just tend to want a smidgeon of a story to keep my mind from telling itself that this is a beautiful horde game.

I like the traps and that you can lock doors aswell, again I seen only 2hours it probably gets deeper and more integral how everyone uses the traps and things to get through the next horde. Again the weapons are fantastic, the sound effects are off the charts and the gibs that fly with a double shotgun to a z's face is very satisfying, for a kickstarter its one of the most complete games I've seen.

Would this be a Xbox Store purchase when it comes to X1 (developers more or less said it is at some stage) or is it a full price game?

Photek, it's cut price on PC so probably a download game. It'll probably be dead online after a month though.

Rog and other PCS folk, I'm sorry about the lack of a server, but there's no support for Linux in the beta version.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Unfortunately this is probably the case - the cod zombies crowd will stick to that, and i can't imagine trying to play a co-op shooter with people without mics etc would get very far. With no singleplayer or competitive multiplayer i don't think it'll last long on consoles.

There are plenty of public servers available.

Really enjoying this.

Although a fair few have complained the boss on normal is too hard i have found simply its because everyone is on level 0 once i was level 2/3 playing with other level 2/3s we pretty much kill him every time.

Looking forward to seeing the other bosses.

Shaming about the lack of server support but apparently they will add it during EA.

Also the zeds are far more agile i got what looks like a kick in the face by an invisi bitch

This is incredible! Neph, Trelliz, Shin, Kil and I played for a few hours this evening without a problem. Prior to the five of us playing, Neph and I had trouble getting onto a server but I found an empty one which we joined without an issue. We managed to stay there all night, even after the others joined.

We seem to have the hang of normal mode, right until we get to the boss, and right now Neph is finding out that hard mode is actually quite hard. I wouldn't mind giving hard mode a go to see if it's a bit easier with PCS communication instead of relying on random players. That being said, we had some helpful randoms when the five of us were playing and even when we were down to four.

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some co-op shooting action.

Hard is tougher but then again I was with pubbies so there was no comms and they seemed to like to split up instead of stay together, we wiped at 6/10, but Hard mode is definitely a bit more challenging as the 7 waves on normal you just never seem to die.

This gif sums up my experience with KF2 so far:

Image

The shotgun hammer is so strawberry floating cool, nevermind guns. Just using the normal attack to make zeds sit the strawberry float down is ace, wish i'd shadowplayed some of the cooler moments like knocking a clot back into the manhole from which it came, or using the blast attack to stunlock scrakes. This, combined with the fact you can parry/block makes playing melee all the more enjoyable.

Hard is definitely the mode to go for once you get a group together you level up much faster too.

Gave it a quick try in single player, it's good

Never had to worry about my hammer running out of ammo before though

Some pubbies and I beat the Patriarch on normal in the Outpost. Feels good, man.

My commando perk is now level 5 so my teammates will also be able to see invisible enemies.

Yep, it was great having everyone stick together in the snow square, heal each other and even share the wealth.

Had some good games tonight.

Hard seems to be more enjoyable once you have a gained a few levels really.
