Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is £17.95 at Zavvi (deal of the day). Not likely to turn up in time for release however.

Saw someone post a picture of the guide for this on another forum, and it's HUGE .

It's quite good, is this. Camera's crap, and it's a bit repetitive (a problem which afflicts t'other Kingdom Hearts games in fairness) but if you're into the world and the story, then you'll find a lot to like, I think.

Particularly if you like Roxas - I know some people who hated the opening to Kingdom Hearts II, but I thought it was a touching and elegiac sequence with some gorgeous music.

Got it yesterday and played it for a couple of hours. Is pretty good so far plays like any other Kingdom Hearts game, not a huge fan of the Panel system though.

I forgot how annoying the controls were

I love the way the music is the same as the PS2 version, brings back fond memories
Even when I played the Jap version, you could basicly understand what was going on, I was right about everything in the training section

Will I enjoy this without having played any KH games before?

I am trying to work out where it sits. First impressions I think its after KH1 but before Chain of Memories.

That means nothing to me.

Basically is any KH knowledge needed? £25 in Sainsbury's was very tempting - especially given I can't find M&L...

it's hard to tell you, I have only played the Japanese version of this game so I dont know the story. I'll play it a bit more.

I just found this which clears up the KH timeline

Chronologically speaking, Birth By Sleep is the first KH story, as it takes place ten years before Kingdom Hearts and follows the story of Xehanort, Terra, Aqua, and Ven. Mickey plays a role as well, but no one knows too terribly much about it by this point.

After Birth By Sleep, KH1 takes place. After the events of KH1, KH:CoM begins immediately. Once CoM ends, there is a year of time that elapses, and it is within this year that a bulk of 358/2 Days takes place. I would not be surprised if there are parts of 358/2 that takes place during KH1 and CoM via flashback, since Roxas was "born" during KH1. Finally, after the year elapses at the end of CoM, KH2 begins.

So in short: BBS ----> KH ----> CoM ----> 358/2 Days ----> KH2

Hexx I think you will still have fun if you have not played any of the others. Chain of Memories was a good imbeteen game and as this is made for the DS only and the 2 main KH games were for Sony I doubt they would make it confusing for people who have only played nintendo games.

Is this an RPG or an action/fight game? The Trailer didn't make it clear...

Nevermind the IGN review said you really need previous knowledge of the games to enjoy it - so I'm out.

The controls are so much easier using L&R to rotate the camera. Why can't you start with that option?

I never realised you could change it when playing the Jap version

I'm glad I did. the idea of a Action/JRPG mixed with Disney didn't fill me with hope. (i'm happy to say I was wrong).
