I don't mind Ariel as it's one that's fairly quick and short.

I've just 100%ed Proud Mode playthrough (apart from blueprints... I need to do shitty ship minigame missions for blueprints >_>) so I've started Beginner mode with same equipment since start. It's boring and slow. Annoyed with difficulty trophies not stacked, it means once I've done this I'll have to do third playthrough. Ah well might do that after I've either finished Graces F or Re:Chains of Memories.

Finished it with default equipment (and under 15 hours). God that was such bore that when I died I just picked Continue option so I don't have to re-do whole of it.

Going to try beat it without continues with upgraded equipment now by simply loading up last save. Annoyed I don't have Second Chance yet as Rod user, maybe going Shield on Proud Mode wasn't bad idea after all. Leaf Bracer + Second Chance = brilliant.

Once I've got Undefeated trophy I'll go ahead and start on Re: Chain of Memories as I don't really want to do another playthrough for Final Mix Master trophy so soon. And I don't want to force myself to try get Gummi blueprints since it's so gooseberry fool minigame.

Wow, I'm enjoying Re: Chain of Memories far more than I thought. Although it is pretty difficult at times even on Normal difficulty! :dread:

I can't get myself into COM even though I played it on GBA and this is clearly much better.

It's just the card system is gooseberry fool and not fun to use.

Was the Under 15 hours that easy? don't know if I can force myself to do it

Yeah it's relatively easy especially if you play it on easy mode (You would have to as the difficulty trophies does not stack.) and blitz through the story mode to reach the final boss. Cut scenes can be skipped this time around.

My plan at the moment is to play it on Normal at a normal pace, and do not use a continue. On my easy playthrough, I'll stick to the same equipment from the start.

Beaten it under 9 hours, if it was with better equipment it'd be way less than that. Skipped Halloween Town and 100 Arce Woods.

I like the card combat system, mainly loving rebuilding decks. I'm on annoying part though...
Vixen 2nd boss at twilight town. ugh I hate him... So soon after the first battle...

I'm taking my time with this, and really enjoying it. I do have a question about 358/2 days though. Would it be worth picking up the game on DS or just watch the cut scenes on this disc? I seem to remember it getting quite a positive reaction when it came out, but people seem quite harsh on it now.

I could never get on with any Kingdom Hearts game on a handheld system, no matter how good the reviews are saying it is. Also being a family man myself, I don't have a lot of time personally to finish RPGs and I'm kinda glad they did 358/2 in a film format so I don't miss out any essential plot when KH3 get released.

Although I still need to finish KH2 as well. Just hope they will release the HD version (with all remaining handheld games as movies. Chain Of Memories was the only expection as they already did that for the PS2 as well. It's easier to do a HD remake from an original PS2 coding.) before KH3...

Personally I liked 358 Day's as a game however the cut scenes in 1.5 HD mix tells the whole story and looks really good.

In fact as I watched it in one sitting and all the combat was taken out it made me understand the story better.

Finding the difficulty to be pretty uneven to say the least! Went from struggling with the Wonderland Boss and the Colliseum, to flying through Deep Jungle, Agrabah and Monstro, now back to really struggling with the first Ursula form in Atlantica. I spend my entire magic bar firing spells at that cauldron, then it takes me ages to target Ursula herself to deal damage when she's stunned. Only managed to stun her the once so far, as I'm struggling to make my magic last enough for the cauldron, let alone healing. I might have to go grind during a colliseum cup.

You can smack around Ursula's pets to build up the orange gauge to replenish magic, when they're not knocked out.

I think I was around Lv40 when I fought her.

Ah yes, I keep forget that you can replenish magic by using items.

Just checked my stock, and I have 78 of those Ethers. :fp:

Donald and Goofy spend most of the fight knocked out too. If I swap one of them out for Ariel, do they still get xp?

Apart from Birth by Sleep.

That game needs to be playable on PS3 (or PSVita), I still have PSP because the fact it's not on digital store which is joke. If I can play Birth By Sleep other than my PSP I'll glad to get rid of my PSP (since I don't like how it feels and Vita is just way way way better)

My faves:

Birth By Sleep > KH1 = KH2 > Re:Chains of Memories > 358/2 Days

Not played Re:Coded nor KH 3DS. I do want to get both (even though Re:Coded is meant to be horrible) but they're still pricey.

Birth by Sleep is by far the best Handheld game. Dream Drop Distance is also very good

Was there even a PS2 version? It's much more easier (cheaper) to do HD remaster this way.
