Overall i think the game was a huge missed opportunity. Seeing that guy's house with all those origami cranes hanging up gave it a real se7en vibe which would have been brilliant if they'd carried it through the whole story. As it was, you just had half the game featuring strangled women, then a few fires before an insurance scam. Still, when it was good it was great, and i want to mop up all the trophies (which i don't bother doing if i dont like a game) so it must be doing something right.

The game featured several over-arching plots, and I felt that having lots of little cases and a couple of big ones, followed by some more little ones and that final investigation, was pretty good. It felt more 'real' by being like that than by being all Se7eny.

Yeah i do kind of agree Alvin,

its just that being a game and all there is scope for it to be more of a shocking and twisty tale, rather than the insurance fraud meh-ness it ended up with. They could have had that story go on to bringing down the whole city government for example, interrogating major politicians for example

The one thing that really disappointed me about the game was the Dahlia killer's identity. I was half expecting it to be Cap'n Donnelly (sp?) or someone. And I think that leaving the corruption at the top of the city was a good move; it wouldn't have been very realistic, even though it would have been satisfying as hell.

Yeah what the strawberry float was the deal with the whole homicide desk anyway? So i get suspects for every murder, they all have evidence in their house, run away from you and then most of them confess...then it turns out it was all the barman?! Genuine WTF.

 ok

finished it all bar electroplating nicholson
A really good game that kept the realism factor evenly on the floor rather being over-ambitious!

LA Noire 2 or the sequel could be really good if a few things are ironed out. Doesn't even have to be in LA.

 I didn't know that! My best mate left sound on my HDTV to rather high (he was using it for music on PS3 Youtube) and I was playing LA Noire all through from start to end with sounds on. Poor woman downstairs, hearing that word over and over again...

FOr anyone wanting to mop up the collectibles after the story, i highly reccomend the rockstar social club! Its got an interactive map that shows you locations/film reels etc. Normally i'd call that cheating, but with the film reels, despite using an officla map, with a detailed description, it STILL took me 15mins to find one of them :x

Whoever put those film reels in the game, then made them so hard to spot needs to be taken out and shot.

Still, i think i'm at 94% completion now. Going to get the 40 odd reels i have left tonight, then 5* the cases over the next week or so.

Then my body will be ready for Skyrim

I was lucky that i'd found all but 4 of the cars throughout the game, so it only took about half an hour to get the rest. I've heard horror stories of people still needing 30 cars by the end of it.

50 more miles to drive and I've 'finished'

Dunno if I can be bothered though, it took me about an hour to notch up 30 miles along the river yesterday :fp:

Because the best top speed is around 86MPH, the river runs about 4 miles and driving 4 miles in a straight line is really strawberry floating boring.

Probably why I'll never bother getting it. The driving isn't remotely fun in this :(

TigaSefi wrote::| Dude there a hidden car that does 130mph.

The fastest top speed in the game is around 86MPH from memory. It's the max cap.

It is only fifteen hidden cars will appear on the map and just going to the question marks. Try to find a garage with the blue logo on it then you will find a car inside.

The rest of the vehicles can be found any time, but a few of them will appear specifically in some cases.
