Godzilla - 6.5/10

A decent enough movie about a man travelling from Japan to America via plane, boat and train. Oh and monsters (occasionally).

Elysium

Damon sleepwalks it, Copley does pantomime, and Foster forgets how to act. I've never seen such liberal editing, so that a character says what they're going to do, then next scene character is doing that thing, and not much in between except for shoehorning in some sick kids. Unlike District 9, the allegory is crude and infantile.

Its not that bad.

I agree about the acting but quite liked Copleys character.

Admittedly Jodie Foster is so bad if you took her out I'd give it 2 or 3 more points.

I still can't decide what accent she is supposed to have. The strawberry float is that, French or something? Awful.

Robocop (remake) - 5

The only good thing about this is that they changed the story sufficiently to make it a little different from the original. Other than that, utterly disappointing. Comic book style violence and humour was taken away, villains were softened and use of the Robocop music was wasted.

Moneyball - 6

Disappointing as I was expecting better from the reviews. Maybe you need to be a baseball fan to get the most of it.

The Raid 2 - Holy gooseberry fool balls/10

I didn't think this would be better than the first one but it blew it out of the water. Started it with a bang and ended with a strawberry float yeah!

9/10 would have been 10/10 but the subtitles were bit iffy sometimes.

Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind 7/10 Such a great story to adapt, though some bits meshed a bit poorly.

Mystery Road

Watched this on Banjo's advice, and it didn't let me down. Slow burning Australian crime drama. Great cinematography, and very natural but solid acting. Aaron Pedersen as Jay, the smart, quiet and stoic detective, was supoib.

I have re watched The Relic based on the novel Relic

In short it's about a gynecoligst who goes to Brazil & meets these naked Indians, however, they put a Jamaican voodoo curse on him & he turns into this angry snarly bastard who wants to rip your head open & eat your brain.

Took time out this morning to read the first draft of the script & some parts from that should of been in the film. There is one part that I was reading that made me feel a sense of dread/ fear/ uneasiness /gooseberry fool your pants but the scene in the film was dialled down slightly.

A head crushing 3/5

Genuinely boring. I can't understate just how unfunny this film is. Truly awful. Cameron Diaz is so offensive to comedy she somehow makes herself not hot to the point I didn't care when she was naked.

Flame and Citron - 9/10

Really fantastic film.

Based loosely on true events it tells the tale of two Danish resistance fighters during WWII. Well directed, great performances, good script. Can't go wrong with this one IMO.

Lone Survivor - 7/10

The Giver

Imagine if Christian Bale's character had failed to ignite a revolution in Equilibrium; that's the world as it is in this film. But a good bit more twee. Was alright I suppose. Jeff Bridges was in it, which is always a good thing.
