Ghostbusters - 8/10 As good as always!
Salems Lot - 7.5/10 Not aged well, but still a classic
30 Days of Night - 7/10 Brutal vampire movie, spoilt by that bit at the end.
Grave Encounters - 5.5/10 Shakey cam, had a few moments but a really silly story....

That's the one. Not sure about Netflicks, I have it on DVD.

Have you seen the Rob Lowe/ Donald Sutherland/ Rutger Hauer version? That's a lot closer to the book, though Mr. Barlow isn't half as scary as the 70's version. The Myers house is pretty creepy though!!!

I have seen that but thought it was disappointing compared to the David Soul version. I've not read the book, but the end of the David Soul version means you can never sleep with the lights out (or during the night) where as the Rob Lowe version if I remember correctly ends with everything being fine and dandy.

Yeah, well kind of Petrie kills the Father at the end, then goes to Mears to tell him the job has been finished. Mears then has a heart attack and dies. The porter (who Mears is telling the story to) finds Petrie at a locked door, but decides to let him go

Assuming you are talking about the David Soul version, I think this is probably one of the best, if not the best horror film of all time. The kid tapping at the window, the guy who has turned in the rocking chair. This was real scares without resorting to gore (although I think there is also one or two jumpy bits). Want to find this on Netflix so I can watch it with my kids, feel it is the sort of film that needs to be handed down to the next generation.

If i ever have kids im gonna terrify the gooseberry fool out of them with Salems lot. I watched it when i was SIX...SIX strawberry floating YEARS OLD!!

Love the scene when David and the Kid are in the basement trying to stake the master and you can see all the sleeping vamps behind them waking up and crawling toward them. Also love how tense it is when David is in the autopsy room with Mrs Glick and the sheet starts twitching....man i strawberry floating love that film

And the scene in the truck when Ryerson and Ned are sent to collect the crate. You can see behind their cab the crate slowly moving closer to them!

Godzilla (2014) - 7/10. Finally got to see this and it didn't disappoint. I can see why people complained about a movie where the main character wasn't seen much, but then what about Jaws?! I also see why people were frustrated by the lack of Godzilla action. But I kinda liked the way they portrayed the destruction. Having three or more fights on screen would have descended into 'Man of Steel' final third destruction. I prefered how they portrayed the aftermath. To me the film had more of a War of the Worlds/ Monsters vibe to it where they grounded the story to a human element (except for the pointless wife and son part which to me was pointless) oh and the only bit that got me was right at the end when someone was heard shouting 'the monster saved the city, hoooray!' when 20 minutes prior to that they were trying to blow the gooseberry fool out of it!!!!

I should probably watch Salem's Lot then. I've read the book but don't remember anything about it.

Gravity 8/10 This is why I bought a 3DTV.Had slight motion sickness/nausea at some scenes but still enjoyed it a lot.

The scenes where the station breaks up are just amaze. And when she crawls out of the water

Hunter X Hunter The Last Mission 1/10 Typical anime series to film garbage.

Desolation of Smaug - 7/10
A film with no start and no end Don't get me wrong, it was good, but it just seemed to meander around for 3 strawberry floating hours. I'm not sure how much they added to the book, but I feel like it's too much. The weird love at first sight plot with the Elf and Dwarf was just weird....

It's the only LOTR film I've not seen in the cinema.
