Pretty good, but very heavy handed with the REALLY SUBTLE race subplot.

Main bunny character wasn't as hot as the Caramel one, sadly.

youd still strawberry float her, dont lie

Kong Skull Island - 9/10

Saw it twice at the cinema and now on Blu-ray. It's so much better on Blu-ray. The editing is the best it's ever been in a giant monster movie, the opening helicopter battle is exceptionally good. The use of colour, music choices, Sam Jackson and all the effects. Just a brilliant movie. Also the post credit set up for Godzilla King of the Monsters ticks every box for me.

Logan 10/10

Second time I've seen it. Improves on the second viewing. Perfect end to the story arc of Wolverine. Loved every second of it.

Atomic Blonde

Killer soundtrack. Cool theme. Some great fighting, some not so great. An enjoyable watch.

Watched GotG Vol 2 with the kids this evening. This is the second time I've seen the film and I enjoyed it a bit more this time. Still not as good as the first, but damn funny in places.

7/10

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children 7/10 - Nice idea, average execution but I preferred it over other YA adaptions.

The Dark Tower - 7/10

It's an enjoyable and well made movie. It never really pops so it all feels like the first part of something huge. The cast are all excellent, the effects are good with a couple of iffy bits. The sense of dread and world ending really isn't there though.

Worth a watch but it's will be forgotten within weeks of it's release.

Get Out - 8.5/10. Not a horror, but does get quite tense. However, very watchable and very intriguing. Tealeaf from Psychoville has really done well for himself.

Chernobyl Diaries - 2.5/10 - good premise, executed very poorly. I still think there's a good 'Chernobyl' horror film to be made, but this wasn't it. Worth watching to the end, though, as that was decent. IMO.

The score and description don't quite add up there - decent, but only worth 2.5/10?

Sorry, I wasn't clear - I meant just the ending. It's not quite enough of a payoff to make up for a thoroughly mediocre movie, but was worth staying to the end for.

Trois Coleur: Bleu

Hmm. Can't really give this a score out of ten as I think I'll need to watch it again. It's very French in that it's slow, often disjointed and seemingly inconsequential. There's something a lot deeper going on however. I can't say I enjoyed it, but it was interesting to say the least.

The History Boys - 7.5/10

Enjoyed this. It was very obviously based on a play (I knew that already but it retained a very theatre structure). Kind of a British Dead Poets Society, just with added groping.

And I had forgotten just how fat Corden used to be.

Love the History Boys, amazing soundtrack and it's just so very Enlgish and lovely. Even Corden is good in it.

Death Note - 2017

7/10

Surprisingly good, if it wasnt for the fact it's a remake of a classic it would be viewed much better by critics. Excellent effects, strong performances, brilliant 80s style soundtrack and a amazing ending. Well worth a look on Netflix.

Jason Bourne - 7/10

More of the same. Not bad, not great, just Bourne. Can't really see much of a future for the franchise though, not many more places it can go or stories it can tell.

Rough Night - 6/10

Watchable but nothing amazing. Really good cast and some amusing moments but not a true laugh in it.

American Made 7/10 Decent enough Tom Cruise film with interesting plot.

Moana - Won't give it a score as I wasn't paying attention the whole time, but didn't think it was great. The plot was pretty boring, did like the song 'You're Welcome' though.

I can't remember if I've seen this or not but I'm pretty sure I saw Trois Coleur: Rouge which I thought was excellent. It's probably similarly paced to Bleu but it's just really nice to watch.

Moana - 7/10

Like Ecno above, I enjoyed that one song but thought the actual story was a bit meh. It was harmless enough though and the CGI was very pretty. My daughter liked the bit with the fish and chicken, so that's something.
