Baywatch 5/10- I really wanted to enjoy this the trailers looked great but the critical slamming put me off seeing it in the cinemas. They were right, just not that funny or an interesting plot Tries to hard to be 'self aware'.

Kingsmen Golden Circle 6/10- Meh it was fine, not as good as the first one and was too long and had one too many bad guys in it.

Interstellar - 9/10

+ Incredible visuals
+ Good soundtrack
+ Compelling plot
+ McConaughey is excellent
+ Really draws you in to the story and universe

- Ending was a bit disappointing
- Some odd cuts
- Some dialogue felt out of place

Really enjoyed this. Never saw it in the cinema, kinda passed me by, but still looked and sounded great on blu-ray. Still thinking about it this morning and mulling it over in my head, but excellent on the whole and solidifies Nolan as my favourite director.

Gold

Interesting story and setting but too predictable. Sticks to the Blow/Wolf of Wall Street formula and just feels a bit tired. Matthew McConaughey overacts throughout the whole thing too. Not terrible, but wouldn't rewatch.

6/10

Resident Evil The Final Chapter (Though not according to Alice and her "still got gooseberry fool to do" at the end) abysmal movie. I enjoyed the previous Resident Evil movies as shite as they were but the last one which I've just finished watching took the biscuit. Boring as strawberry float, so much so I fell asleep before Alice had met Claire and woke when they were getting sucked in to some giant death trap fan in the Hive. 2/10 just let it die now.

IT - 2017 - Second time seeing this. An enjoyable horror adventure with excellent effects, cast and score. Would have liked more links to the bigger King universe but that's my only real complaint.

Beauty and the Beast (2017).
Loved the animated version, but this is a tawdry retread. While it's hard not to get swept along by the brilliant songs, the woeful miscasting of Emma Watson (an insufferably smug and superior Belle) and the offputting character design (Beast, Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs Potts) make it hard to actually enjoy. Where the animated version was superbly acted and visually inventive, this is dramatically inert and rather dull.
Disappointing.

Lord of the Rings: The Animated Movie. (1978)

Always loved this as a kid and watching it again I still love it. Beautifully animated, great voice acting, brilliantly paced.

While Peter Jackson's adaptation of LotR is absolute quality it's such a shame they never continued and finished this animated version, (promptly ends at The Battle of Helms Deep).

9/10

Wasn't aware, but that does look a little lower budget. Nevertheless, I might check it out. Cheers

BFG (2016) 3/10

I couldn't really remember the original version, but thought I'd give this a go. I sadly found it very dull. The little girl was alright, but the BFG was far, far too irritating. Every time he spoke I just switched off. I don't think he was played very well at all and didn't find him lovable, just irritating.

Nearly every scene seemed to drag on for about 5 minutes more than it needed too, the effects were pretty dodgy at times, and it didn't really have any fun to it. It was actually pretty damn boring, so not sure how a child would have kept its attention throughout it.

I didn't finish it in the end. Got to the bit where they see the queen and I just turned it off.

Straight Outta Compton 8/10 - Obviously a huge chunk of artistic license taken with how everyone behaved but still a fantastic slice of music history. Made me realise just how ridiculous 15 year old white me looked singing along to strawberry float tha Police.

Ice Guardians 10/10 - Fantastic documentary looking at the role of the enforcer in ice hockey over the years. Some real insight, great interviews. If you're a hockey fan then it's essential, if not I still think it's worth a watch. You'll find it on Netflix if you're interested. It should then be followed by Jay Baruchel's Goon, which is also tremendous.

My favourite bit of that movie was when they throw the girl out of the hotel room and say “bye Felicia!”.

I thought it was amusing when they drop in a new artist and the first thing they do is whatever their best track was off the cuff.

So, hey it's Snoop Doggg. Hey Snoop, listen to this new jam I've got. Immediately starts rapping over the top with classic.

I’m not sure about nice boys, but I thought it was pretty accurate on Eazy-E being the only one with real criminal experience amongst them?

Didn't Dre beat up a woman? Dee Barnes? My rapper history knowledge is pretty weak to be honest. Don't know if he ever got convicted for it or anything, but I recall something like that happening.

Yes but that was after NWA became famous.
