Alien Covenant isn't actually that bad a sci fi action film, the main issue I have with it is that it totally ruins the mystery behind the Xenomorphs and "Space Jockeys" with its ham fisted attempts at clever plot writing .

Covenant is strawberry floating gash. Looks lovely, but is narrative pig swill.

I know

I struggled to get through Network, please everyone watch it, I found it horrendous!

Maybe it had the adverse effect IMDB bigging it up made me have high expectations. Justice League, Alien etc I couldn’t have any expectations after all the bad reviews, suprisingly found them to be OK.

The first Saw movie is great. Not better than Network obvs, but it doesn't quite deserve to be in that mocking comment, complete with laughing smiley.

It’s a good film for its genre but it’s not an amazing movie.

My comment wasn’t as mocking as you seem to have taken it. I was laughing more at the idea of Alien Covenant being better than an absolute classic movie.

I get why a lot of people say that but I'd argue its better than Alien Resurrection and definitely better than Alien Vs Predator - not exactly a difficult achievement I know but meh.

And Moggy, I take everything I read on here as mocking (with the exception of anything Mockmasterr posts).

AvP I'll give you, but I'd fight for A:R against it. That film looked like someone took a piss over the negative but at least it didn't retroactively destroy the original.

Infinity Chamber - Some interesting ideas, but it's repetitive and runs too long. 6/10

It takes a while to get going, but when it does its excellent. The biggest Godzilla ever seen and one of the best re designs of the character. Not as visually striking as 2016s Shin Godzilla but the sheer size makes up for that. An excellent set up to a very interesting new take on Godzilla. Can't wait to see where the trilogy takes things.

I just watched this and I have to admit I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I didn’t like the fact it was only a PG but there was enough there for an adult to enjoy. Any idea when the next part is due out?

I, Tonya

Legit one of the best things I've seen in a long time. Truly skilled film making, with a clever, progressive shift in tone that nearly had me in tears in a couple of scenes near the end.

Absolutely brilliant stuff.

The Open House

Don't watch it I've just saved you all the 94 mins that I wasted.

The film had potential but the ending sucked it just ended with no explanation at all!

I was thinking of watching this but a quick check on IMDB persuaded me that it would not be a good idea. I check that before watching anything these days.

Yes?

Inferno

So this has been universally panned, but as one of the few people that enjoyed both The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons I thought I'd give this a whirl. And guess what, it turned out to be miles better than expected once again. I mean, it's monumentally stupid in places, but it's entertaining and kept me engaged throughout. Hanks might be a bit miscast in this role but he's always watchable. Perfectly reasonable popcorn fluff.

6/10
