They refer to it a few times in passing without directly saying it. Moments before Xavier dies he has clarity and remembers what he did. It's heartbreaking and very well acted.

Get Out 9/10 Someone told me to go into this not knowing anything about it and I did. Avoided the trailer and TV spots and it was well worth it. All I knew was it was about an interracial couple visiting the girl's parents.

Fantastic movie and nothing like I was expecting. VERY relevant to what's happening in America right now. I loved the little references to to whats going on with the plot very early in the movie that you only realise when it's over.

Jordan Peele is gonna have a great directorial career is this is any indication.

The Messengers.

How great would Dylan McDermott be as Joel if they made a Last Of Us film?

Pretty good film it was, quite old but a decent watch it certainly is, creepy, freaky and violent, what's not to like.

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:

Logan - 8/10

Dafne Keen is just a little ball of pure rage.

A great pair of central performances ties everything together, it's easily the best Marval based film anyone's made. The violence and gore instead of feeling gratuitous as I expected it would seemed completely in keeping with the rest of the film. The language it turned out felt sort of over the top at times.

I liked the idea that mutants, instead of being the next step in human evolution have very quickly been effectively eradicated within twenty years. Having the comic books part of a naive hope for the future was a great little touch.

The Nice Guys. Fun, but was expecting to enjoy it more based on the comments here. Would like to see a sequel though.

A Letter To Momo 6/10 Nice ideas, but it never really fulfils what it sets out to do. Very Ghibli, but Ghibli does it better.

Logan 8/10 Surprised how good this was, more like a Western than a comic book film, and far more interesting for it.

Kong: Skull Island 5/10 First half sets things up nicely, mixing Apocalypse Now with Jurassic Park. When things need to go up a notch, that's when it falls apart.

Have you seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang?

It's not connected to TNG, but it's a similar style, location, theme etc from the same director with Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer. I prefer TNG but Kiss Kiss is very good too.

It also has one of the hottest women I have ever seen.

Saw Rogue One last night. Really enjoyed it. More than the last one.

London Has Fallen: Combat 18/10

Straight up racist. Butler gives a smackdown-speech to the film's villain which is him screaming that all brown people will have been wiped out in 1000 years, and that the white man is king.

Genuinely disgusting stuff.

Its not on Netflix unfortunately, which is a shame as it's really good.

Rogue One: 8/10

I missed this at the cinema but "acquired" it and watched over the weekend.

I am not the biggest Star Wars fan in the world, but this was a decent and entertaining movie in its own right. It jumped around between a few too many worlds at the start which was jarring but after that it was solid entertainment. And was far far better than any of the other prequels.

I took a dump this morning, that if I'd filmed sitting there for 2 hours, would have been far better than the prequels.

Elysium - 7/10

Quite liked this. Reminded me a lot of District 9, but that's no bad thing. I liked the design/look of Elysium - reminded me of the Citadel from Mass Effect - but they didn't spend enough time on there for my liking. I'd have liked to have seen some more of it and understood more about what it's like there, rather than it just being a US suburb in the sky. The action was good and brutal, a few pointless camera effects aside which added nothing and just looked silly, and the plot was good enough, but nothing special. Also, Kruger has one of the most annoying voices/accents I've ever heard. Enjoyable overall, but it could have been fleshed out a bit more.

This (and some comments from others) is encouraging. I've not seen this yet because my love for Star Wars was pretty much killed off by the last film (Episode VII?). Whilst everyone else was raving about it, I thought it was unspectacular and just tarnished further my happy Star Wars memories. I'll certainly check this out when it appears on NowTV.

Ahh hold on a minute. I enjoyed The Force Awakens so you might not want to listen to my views on Rogue One.
