I also did this and after about 15 mins, I was like where the strawberry float is McAvoy and if these women get kidnapped they all deserve to die !

I could watch this again and again. Absolutely love it.

Having said that, it makes me feel horribly nostalgic and genuinely sad that those days are long behind me.

The problem was I didn't even know who was in Split, just that it was by M Night Shyamalan. And the boyfriend in the film I watched had a kind of split personality so by the time I realised I thought might as well finish and it got worse and worse and worse....

Arrival - 9/10

Loved it. Perfectly encapsulated what would probably happen right now if aliens landed on our planet today (i.e. military attacks).

Great movie. I definitely didn't have any water in my eyes.

Ghost in the Shell (1995) - 8/10

Second time of seeing this. Made slightly more sense this time…I like the themes and the setting, and the style isn't too bad either. The soundtrack stood out this time which it didn’t before as well.

Gonna watch Innocence next, which I seem to remember confused the strawberry float out of me, but maybe that'll make more sense upon second viewing as well.

For once I agree with Chalky. Just got back from seeing this. Fantastic. Some fantastic characters, dialogue and some brilliant flourishes.
Pissed myself laughing at some of the antics.

Free Fire - 8/10

Really enjoyable movie with a brilliant cast. Great music too. Very simple set up but it's so refined and well filmed. Will go on to be seen as something of a classic in the future.

Sharlto knows how to pick a good project and this is his best role since District 9.

Also the final shot of the movie is beautiful.

Take a chull pull.

Warcraft - ?/10

I watched up to the opening credits and thought it looked shite. Couldn't be arsed with the rest of it.

Rogue One 8.5/10. Better than VII in nearly every way. Only issue was the poor CGI actors that were used. Trying to bring actors back from the dead via CG just seems wrong, plus isn't convincing visually.

Holidays - 6/10 a horror anthology much like Creepshow. It isn't amazing but has some wonderful imagery and would have benefited from some tighter scripts and a clearer vision. On Netflix for those who want a horroe fix.

The Edge - 9/10 I love this movie. Anthony Hopkins lost in the woods with a big bear after him. So very 90s and so very brilliant. Also on Netflix.

I'm seeing it next week. Managed to never see any of the other movies. Reviews seem positive enough.

Kong: Skull Island 5/10 It's better than Godzilla but that wasn't exactly hard. Interesting set up which then falls back on motivation clichés and a bit of monster bashing.

Watched it today, it's more ludicrous than all of the others combined. Entertaining enough but a bit too long.

Watched it on a whim and quite enjoyed it, somewhat different from the typical vampire film in that you actually feel sorry for the vampire in question .

Arrival - 9/10

That was superb, easily one of the best sci-fi films in recent years.

The Handmaiden - 8.8999/10

Bit of a masterpiece, this. Great performances, beautifully shot, lovely lesbian sex scenes. Asian beauties are the best. If that statement makes me racist, then I don't want to not be racist.

Oh, I also saw Raw which I can't say I would recommend. I liked its goriness but I left contemplating what the point of it was, and concluded it wasn't worth the bother whatever it was. 6/10

The Founder - 8/10

Tells the story of how McDonalds originated. Pretty decent, Keaton is excellent.
