Saw IT yesterday, thought it was really good. Not scary at all though.

The Hitman's Bodyguard - 8/10

Excellent fun, really well filmed and paced.

Just saw IT and it was good. It wasn't scary or anything else and the casts were great. It reminds me a lot of Stranger Things so I would say... 7/10.

Watched a couple of horror movies in the last couple of days. Bone Tomahawk which was a pretty fun rollercoaster ride until one particular scene that once you've seen you will never unsee. Recommended 7/10.

Caught a weird but very humorous shoddy British movie on the horror channel called Inbred. Shockingly over the top gorefest with a bizzare script and a budget that must have been about £500. Awful but very watchable. 7/10.

Bone Tomahawk is a great film. And I know the exact scene your on about

I've wanted to watch Bone Tomahawk for ages but I keep putting off because I'm scared of how horrific that scene is meant to be.

Yeah, it is brutal. The thing about it that stayed with me is how casual and methodical it is carried out. Great movie though.

I'm curious, why won't you watch it? It's a good film.

I think what makes it have more of an impact is it's primarily a western, it's only the last 20 minutes or so where the horror takes over.

Kurt Russell and co are locked in cages when one of his gang gets pulled out and stripped in front of them. The cannibals then use a tomahawk to scalp him, shove it down his throat and then use the blunt end of the tomahawk to knock his teeth out (I think). He's then turned upside down, hacked at the gooch with an axe until he's almost split in half but not quite. The cannibals then decide to pull him apart physically.

Sounds like a perfect lazy Sunday afternoon film.

It reminds me a bit of From Dusk till Dawn in that you think that's it's going in one direction and then it just veers off on another tangent altogether.

I've wanted to see BT for a long time but again, that scene puts me off a bit. Still, I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Jesus, that's a bit much.

It's really not that bad, I mean it stays with you and all but the camera stays in one position the whole time, not close up showing great detail etc. You could always skip the scene, it's over in less than a minute. Think it was rinks who mentioned a horror film from the 80's called Society, that's a film and the kind of horror I don't get on with, just makes me feel sick! Sloppy OTT gore, no thanks.

David Gilmour Live at Pompeii - 9/10 that was awesome watching this in cinema i can't wait for the release at end of the month

Just noticed Squinty's review of Green Room on the last page, and having watched that film is the main reason I don't want to watch Bone Tomahawk. I've never been so shocked by violence in a film as I have by Green Room. It's not even that gory in the grand scheme of things, but it's so real. I felt like I was one of the characters, my heart was racing non-stop after it all kicked off. It was a great film but I'll never watch it again.

I'm just scared Bone Tomahawk will be the same way.

Insidious Chapter 2

A bit silly. Well, to be fair, the original was a bit ridiculous. Giving the old lady ghost a back story was kind of interesting, even though it turned out like kind of a horror trope.

IT - Meh/10.

The kids in it are great and it was fairly well paced but it's not scary and the clown ain't no Tim Curry.

Life - Well shot and had a decent pace but the characters felt a bit...thin. A fairly large plot hole or two (I think) has me a bit stumped but I was fairly tired when I watched it. It's no Alien. 7/10
