Yeah really grim film but I loved it.

Believe it's the same actress who played Margo in Hannibal.

Ah, I thought I recognised her. A few scenes did remind me of Hannibal for other reasons :dread:
Yeah it was a pretty good film.

The Prestige ★★★★☆

I saw this in the cinema and I really enjoyed it but I havent watched it again since then. Enjoyed it from start to finish, I remembered enough about it to know what I should be looking out for but that didnt detract from the experience at all, highly recommended.

Rogue One.

Really good, enjoyed pretty much everything about it. I thought the general consensus was that the characters were a bit dull, but I found them all to be engaging and likable. Last battle was one of the all time great Star Wars moments. Lose the CG people though, Jesus. :fp:

Lion 6/10 Brilliant first half with great atmosphere, tension, drama and acting. Second half was pump, with no atmosphere, no tension, forced drama and bad acting.

Trainspotting- 9/10. Not a wasted moment. Parts actually make me nostalgic for home as well, the unhinged nature of all the characters reminds me of many disastrous nights out. Minus the heroin and stabbings.

Looking forward to the second.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople 10/10 - What an absolutely magnificent film. Both leads are brilliant, the soundtrack is great, New Zealand looks beautiful, raised a tear or two and Murray shows up near the end too. My recommendation is probably not worth much but I'd suggest everyone watches it (it's on UK Netflix) as it's majestical.

Really enjoyed this too but 10/10! You're out of your mind! 7.5 is more than fair.

Prometheus - 8/10

I don't care what the negative reviews say, I really like this film and enjoyed it just as much on this third viewing as the first.

Fury - 8/10. Fantastic tension in the final segment. Decently cast/performed anti-heroes, too.

Trainspotting - 9.5/10. Begbie is one of the finest screen characters in cinema history, but the whole thing is great.

Jason Bourne

Starts of with Bourne showing up on the "grid" (again) and the CIA decide to bring him in or kill him. The first half of the film isn't bad, decently shot scenes, the rest not so much. The story literally goes nowhere.

Bourne movie/10

I think people saw the trailers and were expecting to see more Xenomorphs, Facehuggers and oddly masculine female space marines and got upset when that seemingly wasn't the case.

I quite like how it shows what are probably early forms of Xenomorph and Facehugger as it fits nicely with the idea of the Engineers playing God and creating new life by destroying existing life

Arrival - 7/10

I feel it was a bit overrated and don't get me wrong it was a good film, but nowhere as what I was expected. :?

The Hateful Eight - 6/10

Looked good and had some fairly decent performances but it all felt a bit like a waste of time. Loved seeing Kurt Russell back though, he's great

La La Land - 8/10

A grand spectacle that is always enjoyable, even lovable, slightly let down by the film not being wholly coherent in style.

Did anyone who is familiar with Six Feet Under feel there were parallels between Mia's story and Claire's by the way? It was constantly running through my mind towards the end of the film, even down to shots of a Prius driving through Californian desert! I even went so far as to check whether anyone who had worked on SFU had a hand in this.

Rango - 8/10

It was very good and I wish there is a sequel for this one.

Jacob's Ladder - 8/10
This started off as merely okay, but got better as it went on. Wasn't quite the kind of film I was expecting, and seemed a bit jarring in places with a few scenes seeming out of place, but I enjoyed it all nonetheless.
