Right..... Go and see this film. Avoid all spoilers and go and see it because..... Just because. It's amazing.

Two leads are brilliant and it's nice and creepy. Starts good, geta better and then.... .

Just go and see it and thank me later.

If you go in spoiler free like I did. It is a amazing and there is one bit where I couldn't stop smiling. Best cinema moment of the year so far.

This is the truest post I've read and it 100% spot on about this film, just watch it... like now!

film is a 8/10 for the most part, but after you'll kind of see why it could/is a 10/10.

Look Who's Back - 7/10

A German film about Hitler waking up in the modern day and getting straight back to his old tricks. A bit of an odd one, interesting ideas and scary in places how easy it would be for a Hitler figure to make gain in the present political era, but German humour really doesn't translate very well.

Hacksaw Ridge - 8.5/10. Probably the best war film since Saving Private Ryan.

Trainspotting 2 - 7.5/10

I find it terribly difficult to judge films where a long period of time has passed between releases. On one hand, it's great to see Renton, Spud etc again. Perhaps it's the nostalgia in me. All I can really say for sure is that I had a good time watching it and it didn't outstay its welcome.

I feel it was a bit overrated and don't get me wrong it was a good film, but nowhere as what I was expected. :?

Yeah, I was expecting this to be better honestly. Really wasn't impressed with it at all.

I watched this today and thought it was absolutely fantastic. Genuinely one of the best sci films films I've seen in awhile. Brilliant displays from the leads (Jeremy Renner suitably understated against Amy Adam's magnificent central performance), excellent score that helps ramp up the tension in the key moments and there's barely any filler as the story rattles along at a steady pace.

The twist was also perfectly delivered. I love how it all comes together to you just before they deliver it, and then how it brings the whole film together-Amy Adam's character's subplot and the overarching questions the film was asking. I like Interstellar but this was a much more satisfying film. Where Interstellar became overblown this takes its much more simple concept and executes it superbly.

9/10 for me.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe - One of the better horrors of recent years. It is really well filmed, pretty creepy, and full of tension. A solid 8/10.

T2 Trainspotting

Loved it. I was really worried that this would be either a horrid cash-in, or some 'look how old we are and can't do this stuff anymore' Die Hard 4 / Crystal Skull type bollocks. Instead it's a really quite touching movie about growing old and regret. There are some really good nods to the first film without relying too much on those iconic moments that made Trainspotting so memorable. It also shares the original's knack for being gritty and dark while sharing a perverse sense of humour. One particular scene (which in any other British movie would have been particularly grim) is coupled with an inspired bit of gross-out comedy. Cast are all really good although it's a shame that Kelly McDonald doesn't get more to do (though she does get one of the best lines). Overall I thought it was an excellent companion piece to the original, and if you're a fan of that I'd definitely recommend it.

8/10

I'd best get round to watching the original then.

I don't hate Die Hard 4, I was referring more to those 'comedy' moments where Bruce Willis moans about being too old for this gooseberry fool. There is no Die Hard 5, right?

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. 3/10. Totally standard, unremarkable, slightly overpowered hero film. I thought the first one was kind of ok, but since then we've had John Wick and, to a lesser extent, The Equalizer, which both did this much, much better.

Never has a film's subtitle provided such a perfect summation of the the decision to make the film itself.

Birdman

A lovely watch. Felt at times like a less strawberry floated up (and IMO not as good) Black Swan.

Really enjoyed the camera work and general style.

Tense, riveting and superbly acted, especially by a wonderful John Goodman.....

That ending, strawberry float off!

5/10.

I loved the ending, turned the whole thing on its head! The last 15minutes are so leftfield that it's like 2 seperate movies.

9/10

Also I loved Prometheus. :shifty:

Arrival.

It's really not about aliens/10.

Very good. Managed not to cry, but it was close.

Been larking around with my soundbar, the sound it's incredible :datass:

The Matrix

Unfortunately I can't tell you what the matrix is, you have to see it for yourself. 5/5

The Matrix Reloaded

Not a bad film, just disappointing. Somewhere in this film, is a good film. 2/5

Can't be bothered to rewatch Revolutions just yet.

Money Monster 5/10. Starting George Clooney & Julia Roberts. Directed by Jodie Foster.

Average film about a TV host (Clooney) of a Stock market tips show who is taken hostage on live TV by some bloke who lost all his money following a tip previously that has just tanked. Its not that long - about 75 mins I think but it did drag a bit in that short time.

Definitely one of the top three films for testing out new sound equipment. Dat lobby scene :datass:

Up there with the beach landing in Saving Private Ryan.

The opening battle of Gladiator is also a good one to test out a new sound system.
