GOTG Vol. 2 - 8.5/10. Not quite as good as 1 but still pretty fantastic. Highlights were Drax  Gamora and Nebula  Baby Groot (damn I wish I hadn't seen the bomb bit in a trailer) and more than anything else, Yondu ('I'm Mary Poppins, y'all' - holy strawberry float)  .

Creep - 5/10

+ Kind of interesting premise
+ Starts off well enough/believable enough
+ Held my interest

- Too many ridiculous/unbelievable situations
- Unlikeable main character
- Too silly towards the end

I don’t know where to start with the plot holes and laughable situations in this, but it was okay for something crappy to watch and pass a bit of time.

0/10. Dogshit.

I never understood how they managed to screw that film franchise up so spectacularly. All they needed to do was follow the script of the games to the letter.

I watched the angry joe review of it and he utterly hated it. They could have made the film spanning all of the games. That's it. Was strawberry floating atrocious.

They're already discussing rebooting the series - even the last one made over $200 million at the box office.

John Wick: Chapter 2 - 8/10

Not as good as the first, but still an awesome action film.

Wonder Woman 9/10

A very good movie indeed. Gal is brilliant and shines in every scene. The pacing is fantastic and the plot makes sense with it being an actual journey for her. The effects are up to usual DC universe standards and the action scenes are filmed very well with no Shakey camnor stupidly close close ups.

The three big action set peices are all excellent with the beach arrival and No Man's Land both being epic. It's very well directed with some emotional moments really hit.

Chris Pine is very well used and has a good story arc.

Overall it's not Logan, nor is it the pure joy of Lego Batman, but I enjoyed it more than GOTG 2.

Only negatives are the lack of links to the DC universe and the final battle needed something extra like a cameo from the League or a surprise.

I'd never seen this before, so felt it was due a watch. A lot better than I'd been led to believe (in terms of how well it held up) - lots of people have told me not to bother with it. Great use of sound and music, and I loved the numerous long shots travelling down the corridors which really put across the scale and loneliness of the hotel. Jack Nicholson was great, and his wife - while very annoying - was pretty believable. Couldn't help but laugh at the kid in some of the scenes, but he was pretty tolerable for a child actor. Good overall.

2 points too low mate.

Thing is why are the cg films so good. But the films are utter horseshit?

CG films are done in house I believe, the live action ones are the work of a strawberry floating moron who can't direct himself out of a wet paper bag.

I'd heard good things, but the generic advertising and positioning as your standard YA fare had tempered my expectations somewhat. In fact, the buzz was correct and this was quite a remarkable film. Stunning in places and traumatising in others it had me and my girlfriend in sheets of tears by the end, to the point where she was still crying a good 10 minutes after it had finished. The only negatives were a rather predictable bullying storyline and Signourny Weaver's shite English accent.

Watched this last night off the back of your review. How on earth was this marketed at kids? I'd imagine they were all traumatised coming out of it ffs.

Either an 8 or 9 out of 10 for me - really thoughtful and moving little film.

The Lego Batman Movie - 7.5/10

Not as good as the Lego Movie, but a damn sight better than lots of actual Batman movies.

The Descent - 10/10 - it's on Netflix and is one of the best British horror movies ever made. Beautiful filmed by Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers) with a likeable cast and one of the best jump scares in cinema history. The entire first encounter scene and the aftermath is utterly amazing.

A genuinely creepy and unnerving movie. The sequel is also worth a look if only for one character's story arc.
