I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Will happily watch it again at some point.

Doesn't feel fresh but it was still fun.

Transformers was really really bad.

Like why did some characters even exist? Why was it so long? Nothing happened!

I liked how the young girl seemed really important and then just vanished for the second half of the film. It really seemed like they cut massive portions of the film out or just didn't film planned scenes.

A regular watch, but it never stops being as entertaining, or disturbing, as the first time I saw it. The effects are still strawberry floating amazing and really have not aged at all. The physical presence of these monstrosities trumps any CGI I've ever seen. And young Keith David

The prequel from a few years ago is good IMO. I watched it a while ago and was suprised how good it was if the directors could of done what they wanted to do with movie but the studio execs stuck their nose in alot during the making of it. Plus it has Mary Elizabeth Winstead

I'm a huge JC The Thing fan (My all time 2 favourites are The Thing and Bladerunner, both released in 1982, the year I was born) and even loved the 'prequel' especially the end credits scene which ties directly in to the start of the JC movie still have the steelbooks for both films sealed. Back to back Thingathon might just be in the works soon!

First time I watched it I must have been around the age of 3 and it was my uncle who let me watch it. Didn't like dogs for a couple of years after that

But can you see Keith David's breath at the end?

Fantastic, so much fun and yet also gruellingly tense; I never knew Jamie Foxx could be so intimidating!

Watched Okja tonight on Netflix. I've been looking forward to this, being a fan of Jon Ronson, Jake Gyllenhaal and Korean cinema. Started off well - charming and Ghibli-esque. 2nd act was action packed and fun, but it was ruined by a grim 3rd act and huge plot hole.

The first one, Rakka, in case anyone missed it:



Both are extremely good. I think I preferred Rakka, it has more dramatic imagery and was a better rounded standalone, but Firebase is a fascinating idea (as one of the Youtube comments points out, it's got some definite MGS3 vibes). He's stated that these are very much proof of concept pieces and that full treatments have been written for each of them. He's going back to his roots basically with how Alive in Joburg became District 9. Speaking of:

Firebase was awesome, I would love to see that story continued.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe 7/10 2/3 of a great movie brought down by a poor final third full of stupid horror tropes. That opening 45 minutes where they slowly uncover clues during the autopsy as to how she died were by far the best. I think I would have preferred this as a straight murder mystery without any of the horror stuff. The actress playing the corpse was incredible, something I never thought I'd say about a performance that involves lying on a slab and being as still as possible. She managed to convey so much emotion and be terrifying by just lying there. Great use of sound in this film, too. But yeah, final 3rd was a disappointment.

Hot damn that was excellent. Amazing cast, great car chases & outstanding music. Jamie Foxx plays an excellent bastard & I hope this is the role that cause Jon Hamm to make it bigger in movies 'cos he was excellent too.
