I though Scott Pilgrim was awesome personally. I seem to be liking all the marmite films recently.

I liked Scott Pilgrim, but it is easily the worst Edgar Wright I've seen.

I'm sad because it's upsetting to see so many people being wrong

But even if you don't like the film, you can probably appreciate how accurately it adapted the comic source material:

Strange thing is, I loved the comics but HATED the film.

I loved both the comics and film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim. Thought it did a top job of bringing across the comics to the big screen.

Anyway I've just come back from seeing "A Quiet Place". It was ok, nothing amazing to me. I'd probably give it a 6-7/10 whereas "Ghost Stories" is probably an easy 9, maybe even a 10/10 for myself.

I've been told I've got terrible taste in films though (purely as I enjoyed "The Last Jedi") so take my scores with a pinch of salt.

I don't take any notice of what anyone says about my film tastes nowadays, and i enjoyed Last Jedi too.

That said, because it was a Star Wars movie, you have to remember that there will always be a segment of the fanbase who are never satisfied.

Oh I don't take any notice, just thought I'd mention it!

I agree about some Star Wars fans never being satisfied, although The Last Jedi seemed particularly divisive.

I didn't really enjoy Scott pilgrim much, was a bit yoof for me. I made it all the way through though so it did something right.

One of mates says it's his favourite film of all time :dread:

On topic I watched Annihilation on Netflix

Some great visual design and a nonsensical plot full of dumb characters

Loved the Scott Pilgrim movie. That fact that Knives is hotter than Ramona is strange though. Having not read the comics I’m wondering if that is somehow the point.

All this discussion on Scott Pilgrim and not one mention of Mary Elizabeth Winstead in her undies? :datass:

This forum has gone downhill...

A Quiet Place.

It was a very good film and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I agreed with a couple of you about the jump bits, yet it was very good!

Does anyone think there will be a sequel as I thought about where did the creatures come from? Surely, there is a sort of like the Queen to breed these babies.

Regarding your question, John Krasinski said this:

“They're an evolutionary perfect machine. The idea is, if they grew up on a planet that had no humans and no light, then they don't need eyes, they can only hunt by sound. They also develop a way to protect themselves from everything else – that's why they're bulletproof... The other idea was it's also the reason why they were able to survive... the explosion of their planet and then survive on these meteorites. Until they open themselves up to be vulnerable, they're completely invulnerable.”
