BTW none of that is a slight on how this has been run, if anything this approach just makes it more entertaining!

Imagine being the sort of person that when asked “name a movie” replies “White Chicks”.

I don’t agree with capital punishment, but I would make an exception in that case.

I’d be like Dexter though, I would only kill other facists. And then I would become a lumberjack.

Hotel Artemis – 7.5/10

I didn’t know much about this movie other than it was set in a hotel for criminals run by Jodie Foster. And I didn’t even get that right…

It was thoroughly enjoyable, great performances from Foster and from Jeff Goldblum. The technology seemed a little off though, the movie is set in 2028 and I things seemed far more run down than now, while also being much more advanced.

John Wick 2. I preferred the first, but it was still enjoyable, if simple. 8/10.

The theory of everything 9/10

Great performances all round, I didnt expect it to be as moving as it was.

Alien 6/10- If I'd gone into this not knowing anything (I've seen Prometheus and AvP) and seen it in the cinema I'd imagine my reaction would have been much better, but the plot wasn't all that special and the characters weren't that developed or interesting.

Incredibles 2 - 7.5/10

It was good fun and enjoyable but I think I preferred the first one. :)

Aliens 8/10- Much more interesting than the first. I did think the bit where Ripley saves Newt was a little weak and worthy of being almost the final act, and let the rest of the film down slightly, as if it had been better this would have reached 9 territory.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Bloody loved it. It's a bit of a family friendly affair and I have no doubt an entirely different, age-restricted film is out there waiting to be made, but it was a great watch nonetheless.

I am a big fan of Queen and I'm not sure how well it would hold up if you're not. Absolute film nerd glee at Mike Myers telling the band that kids won't be winding down their car windows and headbanging to Bohemian Rhapsody :msgreen:.

How sad that shite like AvP and Prometheus ruined Alien for you. Alien is all about the atmosphere. Long lingering shots, silence, claustrophobia, that feeling of being entirely alone in space. It's a fantastic film

Last film I watched was The Post. Great performances and a strong message which is obviously very relevant in the Trump era but it didn't engage me like I had hoped. Worth a watch but I wouldn't watch it again, 7/10.

Outlaw King - Freedom!/10

Not bad. Not as enjoyable as Braveheart, but I get the feeling it's definitely more historically accurate.

Pine works well as the Bruce and the accents are generally decent throughout. Felt like it was lacking something though and I can't quite put my finger on what it was.

A decent watch but nothing particularly remarkable.
