Every now and then, Cineworld screens a film that is a secret right up until the classification screen immediately before the film starts. It will always be a film that is still a few weeks away from general release.

They also tend to put treats on, for example at the Incredibles 2 there was free Pepsi Max going, along with a 'fresh' buffet provided by Café Rouge. I always take full advantage .

I’ve never heard of it. Do you have to be an unlimited member and is it only at selected cinema’s? Is it a normal admission price?

It is exclusive to Unlimited members. Entry price is free (read: included within the subscription).

Ah right. I’m not a member. I’ve often thought about doing it but I tend to go to vue. We have a cineworld and vue in our town. I usually buy £40 worth of gift vouchers for £33.99 from Costco and go on super Mondays (£3.99) or meerkat movies if I’m going with wife/son. If all else fails then they do police discount so I can get student price. Due to this I think it would cost me more to be an unlimited member.

After a year you get 25% off food and drink, including alcohol. I have certainly made the most of that 8-)

Tag - 6/10

An enjoyable little comedy with an excellent cast but it's too tame and when it gets dark it just doesn't sit well with the tone of the film. Crap ending but some funny moments. Isla Fisher looks devine as always and she is the best thing about the movie. Also the true story it takes its inspiration from is shown in the closing credits and all it does is show how much they took an idea and changed everything about it.

Interstellar - 7/10

Flawed, but when it is great, it's strawberry floating great. There's a lot of stupid gooseberry fool in there, the bit where he is trying to align the ship at high speed was just silly. And then the whole love angle. And the fact that the main character is a complete idiot.

Still standout bits, the scene where he is watching the video logs strawberry floating wrecked me. Also any space shot in it. I think the movie should be appaulded for feeling like a huge journey. It really does go to some interesting places, the execution is off at times, but I enjoyed the ride.

I loved Interstellar, i agree it wasn't perfect, but it's still one of the best sci fi movies i've seen in recent years.

I really didn't get on with Interstellar. It took what could have been an interesting story and shoved it so far back up its own ass that it became unbearable by the end.

How would you compare it to the first? I thought the first half of DiCaprio was phenomenal but the second went a bit John Wick which I'm normally all for but it was such a contrast to the tone it felt a bit silly.

I don't remember the 1st one very well, though the second has more action scenes.

The first one has that tense Mexico scene going across the boarder and back again.

Cargo: 5/10

Yeah, this wasn't much fun. An interesting premise, man suffering from a zombie bite has 48 hours to get his infant daughter to safety, but it was a script full of people doing utterly stupid things without rationale. Also interesting was its central representation of the Aboriginal nations and their relation to white Australians, but this was undercut by the plodding nature of the plot and a complete lack of character to anyone on-screen.

Some of the visuals were nice though, even if the production team were obviously a little too proud of their drone footage (half the film being sweeping shots of the Outback).

The Greatest Showman 7/10

This was decent enough, but I agree with the general criticism that there really isn't enough between the songs to hold things together.

It puts on a decent spectacle and the songs are catchy, if a bit too near the "pop" end of the spectrum for my liking, but it's not going to live in the memory as a great musical.

Funnily enough I also watched X-Men Origins: The Greatest Showman last night

Not my kind of music so that was pretty much 90% of the film's appeal lost on me

It is hard to separate Hugh and Logan isn't it! :lol:

I'd rate Showman above a good few of the X-Men films mind, but that's more to do with how bad the X-Men franchise has been rather than anything!

Cargo. Very bleak but a good story and not just wall to wall zombies. Freeman was his usual awesome self.

I wouldn't watch it though if you suffer from depression, it sent me into a spiral of self pity and tears and spent about half an hour cuddling into one of my little girls stuffed toys.

T A U, this just popped up on Netflix and it actually pretty cool. It's a bit like a tech version of the human centipede but with robots and an actual method to his madness.
