It very different. Jurassic World was fun, this is more serious. Bad guys are terrible. Dinosaurs are great though. I've enjoyed all of the film's on the series as even part 3 had some amazing effects and moments.

It really does feel like The Lost World. Which is both good and bad.

I'm seeing it again on the weekend and I feel the score may drop after a second viewing.

Also there is a short after credit scene but I left before it.

Thor: Ragnarok - 8/10

Really liked this, it was such a fun watch.

Loved the ridiculously camp sci-fi setting, it's like they stuck Star Wars, Flash Gordon and The Fifth Element into a blender with some coke and served it to Luc Besson as a smoothie.

Jeff Goldblum's character was brilliant.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

I loved the first Kingsman and went into this one knowing that the general conscientious claimed it wasn't nearly as good, but I disagree. The action especially was a massive step-up; they really upped the ante with the same seamless editing style which helped make this scene from the first such a highlight.

IT. WTF do mutant clowns have to do with Information Technology? Nothing! Feel I have been mislead.

Never seen the original, but I think they could have toned down the gore a little and made this into a more child friendly action film rather than the horror it was intended to be. Was also expecting it to jump forward 27 years but will have to wait until 2019 for that chapter.

Not usually into musicals, but this was rather good.

10 Cloverfield Lane - 7.5/10

Had a copy of this for aaaages and finally got round to it. It was really great right up until when she escapes. The whole alien ship just happening to be flying nearby at the time, the random big alien dog thing that was suddenly right there, the alien ship had a spiky vagina mouth and she became Magiver with the Molotov cocktail. Then she blew up the ship and the big alien dog thing disappeared. Ending killed it for me, really felt like they’d made this quality film and then decided to reshoot so it would fit into the Cloverfield universe, lame.

John Goodman was amazing though, such a fantastic actor.

Jurassic World 2 - 7/10

I really enjoyed this, the end of it was strawberry floating idiotic though.

The stupid kid letting the dinosaurs out into the wide open world. Dumbest kid ever.

Still, great action sequences in general. One bit in the film had a lot of emotional punch, which really surprised me. It had some surprisingly dark plot veins as well.

Preezy what the hell? 'Magiver'? Seriously?!

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom - 6/10

Second viewing of this and it's not good. The faults are a lot more apparent. So much copy and paste from previous films, a stupid ending and the best bits are all just from previous films. It also drags a lot during the middle.

Worth viewing for the dinosaurs but the set piece of the volcano is under used

Darkest Hour - 8/10

Really draws you in, Gary Oldman's performance is amazing.

Pom Poko - 5/10
Pretty odd this. Not from a concept point of view, as all Ghibli films are odd in that respect, but it's very repetitive, has no real protagonist, and not much happens in terms of plot. There were a couple of mildly amusing moments, and some nice bits of music, but it was all very average and verging on boring. Probably the worst Ghibli film I've seen.

I think I preferred the film, I like the book but the overly long descriptions did start to get a bit tedious.

Can't say i was much of a fan either, found it overlong and rather dull.

I would agree.

I also agree with part of Buff's post and think it could have been better, however can't agree with it being too gratuitous, if anything i think they should have gone further. The book is much more graphic.
