Logan - strawberry floating strawberry float out of 10

I enjoyed it. Patrick Stewart makes everything better. I could not take Steven Merchant seriously though. I think it's that scene in The Office that killed him as an actor for me. I keep thinking of the eye insult Brent does.

Really great video that breaks down just how shoddy the editing is, and is a great look at the general language of cinema. I'm not really one for consciously noticing the more technical side of cinematography, so this is really interesting.

I finished this yesterday, and would agree with the 10/10.

A war that I didn't really know a lot about, especially from the Vietnamese side of things, so a truly fascinating documentary.

Just to get this off my chest: I thought Suicide Squad was entertaining enough. I thought it was messy and naff but not boring and most importantly I thought it was earnestly naff and unpretentious.

Some films think they're good or somehow a cut above basic engagement and really aren't and that 'watches' worse to me.

E.g. I really really disliked how lavish and smug Spectre was though it couldn't cobble together basics of interesting action, believable romance or engaging plot. And that I find worse than an essentially well-meaning but a bit crap try-hard like SS.

Edit: Or maybe the incredibly low expectations made me enjoy it more who knows. But it was certainly more entertainingly odd than something super dull like CA.

Have you seen The World at War? It's an absolutely incredible series, though some of it is pretty tough viewing because, well, it's war.

If anyone is even a little bit interested in this, I'd strongly recommend they watch it. The attention to detail and eyewitness accounts are just amazing. It's peak level documentary.

The Breakfast Club - 10/10

Saw this at the cinema tonight thanks to Odeon, it was bloody amazing. My second favorite film of all time and just so special. It has aged, or rather the modern style of movies is far faster and a lot louder. But this is vintage John Hughes. Next week they are showing Fight Club so Monday night may become movie night.

I've never seen Fight Club. It's one of several blips on my film watching record that I feel I really need to address!

Dammit people, the rules clearly state that you don't talk about it!

I don't think [REDACTED] has actually aged that well. Late 90s/early 00s films are weird.

I will just add though, that if you take the word 'fight', replace it with 'wank', then recite the rules, you'll find it makes for a rather amusing experience.

Fight club is my favourite film I want to set one up in real life!!
