Someone at work went to watch that the other day and said it was the worst film they'd ever been to see at the cinema. I checked IMDB and it had a 7.2 which is pretty high for IMDB.

They don't like hip-hop though so their opinion is moot anyway.

A Star is Born (2018) - 9/10

Bradley Cooper will win an Oscar and truly deserves it. Utterly amazing moments and some hard watches. One scene is filmed so well, genuinely moving.

3 amazing songs, some fillers.

Gaga is good and her voice is brilliant.

Final song is wonderfully filmed and has a little touch or two which makes it hit hard.

Can't praise Cooper enough, amazing performance and direction.

Some parallels to La La Land, it isn't at that level but it's up there with Infinity War and A Quiet Place for my fave film of the year.

Chemistry is so good. Just a wonderful film and worth going to see at the cinema.

Red Dragon - 5/10

Poor remake of a perfect film (Manhunter) . Cast are all good but it's flat and not particularly exciting. Hannibal the TV show did it better in series 3.

Assassins Creed - 6/10

Not bad for a game to film adaptation but it just felt lacking in any real substance and seems to be all about setting up for a sequel which I can't imagine ever getting made.

Also spends far too much time fannying about with sweeping shots of CGI eagles flying over CGI cities, and the parkour bits were ridiculously unrealistic, at times it resembled something out of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon rather than something an extremely agile and athletic person might actually be able to do.

Was the only other film they'd seen at the cinema, Jurassic Park?

Venom 6/10- Don't think there was anything wrong with this. It was fine. The anti-hero made it a bit different from other super hero films and the short run time meant I was never bored.

Post Credit Scene 2 Spoiler

What the hell was that? It was just a trailer for another film.

Ghost Rider (2007)

I like the Ghost Rider character and this film is... okay. The look of Ghostie is great and I liked the start of the storyline, but it kinda fades out. The flames look cool and the bike is ace but they can't make up for the mediocre action. Why do the Rider's flaming chains move so slow when he wields them?

I'd give it [5]. I enjoyed it as a fan - and I've seen it about four times now! - but I can understand why other folk would rather face the penance stare.

I'm gonna watch the sequel next!

Venom - 7.5/10
Didn't have any expectations due to the poor reviews. So overall 7.5. Funny in parts, was entertained all the way through. No idea who that was after the initial credits though.

Venom.
3/10
I had low expectations and it was still gooseberry fool.
Best thing was the sneak peak at the animated spider Man film at the end.

The Captain 7/10: German film with English subtitles. Interesting story with a good first act, which fizzled out for me a bit.
