Watched the first 2 hours of Infinity War last night, so far I'd give it a 7/10. You can tell they're desperately trying to give everyone something to do, but for the most part it works pretty well. The battle in Wakanda is super silly though, but I guess...spectacle? Also the whole "Banner can't hulk out" plot device is lame, clearly just couldn't come up with a decent reason to not have Hulk appear and dominate everything.

I like how they've managed to integrate the comedy styles of both Guardians and Ragnarok into it, fits very nicely.

Hopefully manage to watch the rest either tonight or tomorrow, I'm expecting a decent ending with a big cliff-hanger. Oh and I hope to strawberry float that someone important dies, please god let there be some actual peril for once!

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

A great finale to the series, with fantastic action and set pieces far better than they ever should have been for a YA fiction movie.

8/10

half the universe, although it's fairly obvious they're going to use the Time stone to undo that at some point in the the next film

Looked an absolute state by the end of this, was in floods of tears. One of Pixar's best in years.

Wonderful film. The ending wrecked me :(

Really liked how Mexican it all felt as well.

Justice League

Nothing like the travesty it was made out to be on release. Much better editing than Batman Vs Superman, most of the humour worked and the characters were memorable and mostly likable. The bad guy was gooseberry fool and some of the special effects were ropey but there have been much worse in super hero films. I'd put it on par with the weaker Marvel films.

I also just watched this and agree, but I'd give it a 7.5 as I enjoyed it more than Wonder Woman. I didn't hate Batman Vs Superman and actually find the DC films refreshing in our current world of Marvel films. I don't think the bad guy was terrible, but
was too weak when Superman shows up

Would have been nice to have had a bit of back story for the new characters but then I guess people would complain about film length.

The Last Jedi - 7/10

In parts amazing and in parts terrible. Opening and ending are brilliant, but middle is just slow and boring. Wasted so many opportunities for greatness and sets up part 3 terribly.

Still has some good bits just wish JJ had made the full trilogy.

Wish my image sig would work

Ant-Man and the Wasp

7/10

Thought this was reasonably entertaining. Why are the Marvel films funnier than nearly every movie that tries to pass itself off as a comedy these days.

Spoiler relating to mid-credit sequence:
Would the Pym and the gang really be conducting experiments on a roof in San Francisco when the earth is currently under attack from alien invaders?

I did originally put down 7 but chanced my mind.

I guess the story wouldn't have made sense if the guy was able to put up a fight against Superman.

Dunkirk. It was OK, can't say much more than that.

Maybe a 7, maybe a 6.5.

What i found most jarring was the fact that some of the scenes were clearly modern Dunkerque without any effort being made to make it look like the period it was set in (the houses had windows with modern shutters ffs), it also didn't help that some of the aerial shots clearly shows the post war city centre hotel towering above the rest of the town.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - 8/10. Maybe even 9/10 for in the moment enjoyment.

Wasn't as much of a fan of the original as most. Found this much better if a little overlong towards the end. Consistently funny, warm in tone and with more convincing camaraderie between everyone. For me this was the feel-good blast everyone else made the first out to be :D
