Has anyone seen 'A Field In England' yet? Sounds pretty dark.

An American Werewolf in London - 8/10

Well, that was a brutal ending. Loved the bits where he was talking to his dead, decomposing buddy. Really snappy dialogue in the beginning, thought it was great.

The bit when he's (ending spoilers) infected himeself with whatever the hell it was, and he's on the way back through the facility, and stops to enjoy a refreshing drink on the way - just before he uses the coke machine to create a loud noise to distract the zombies. It just came across as really naff to me.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

That was the most blatant product placement I've seen since I, Robot.

...But I'm pretty sure it was Pepsi. ;)

just seems like a rehash of the first film but a bit different

 Holy strawberry floating gooseberry fool, I can actually call you ignorant

:?: :?:
It was terrible though. Tbh it is 26 years old so the special effects wasn't up to much. But then i did just watch the 2013 version of Evil Dead which was awesome!

How old are you FFF?

26

Now you see me 8/10
really good film, great plot twists and kept me on the edge of my seat. Even though I missed the beginning (15-20mins) as I fell asleep :fp:

Hanna - 6/10

Not as good as I'd hoped. The almost non-existent story was predictable and fairly lame, particularly the end. The action was decent but pretty lacking compared to some other recent films. Should have been more violent. Cate Blanchett is such a charmless strawberry floating banana split, I literally despise her. She's good in nothing. The film would have been better with someone else in her place.

Also strawberry float my internet. Netflix switched to HD literally as the end credits started.

Because the Shaggy-esque stoner is a staple of the slasher genre?

It's a parody of the horror genre, hence the need to have a character sudden dye her hair blonde, the jock suddenly become dumb...

The game controllers want the characters to fit the horror genre rule to successfully pull off what they wanted.

Yeah, it was

Not the sort of film I would normally seek out, but I did so because of Shearsmith's background in dark comedy and love of British horror

Some really creepy scenes, especially when Reece Shearsmith's character emerges from the tent, tied up and walking/stumbling. Very weird

I enjoyed it on the whole, but still don't know what to make of the story. I've read it could have been a metaphor for purgatory

I also welcomed the release of the film on tv/cinema and rental at the same time, and look forward to more in the future

Yea I saw it the other night, really liked it, loved the dark horror vibe/ black humour elements and thought they captured the sort of effects or at least eluded to the mushroom tripout sequences really well. The strobing effect and mirrored imagery was quite haunting.. It almost felt like something david lynch would imagine, just the whole bizzare nature of some of the scenes and madness of everything. I wasn't entirely sure what to make of the meaning, probably need to view it another time, but there was one moment that I was slightly unsure about - Basically just before the sequences you described where Whitehead is tied up and emerges from the tent by a rope. Was is meant to be him being raped or torture by O'Neil? as you hear this extremely distressed screaming and you see the others outside looking over in horror from what they can hear. Ofc you're never always entirely sure if what is happening is a dream/hallucination.
