They keep advertising it at the IMAX at my uni. They want ten quid to see it though, lolm8 :|

I think I'll stick to Star Tours for my 3D Star Wars fill, I didn't even think the pod race was that good...

Currently watching the Pure Pwnage TV Series.

The first few eps weren't great but oh my effing God, eps 5 and 6 (with Doug being arrested for mugging an old lady) were absolutely insane. Couldn't stop laughing at any point.

I went to see Episode I today and the 3D is pretty pants - arguably the best use of it is the scrolling text at the start.

I will always have a soft spot for Episode I. It was the first SW I saw and, as such, my introduction to the universe. Just like the fans of the originals in 78 or whatever, I ended up playing SW video games and getting drawn into it a little bit more.

I don't care what anyone says about the quality of the films, the prequel trilogy is at least an interesting setting.

Episode I is just weird though. It is clearly a kids' film - and I think when you look at it like that it (kind of) works. But then you have talk of taxation and trade disputes and I wonder how my younger self made sense of it. It is also quite long, and the pacing isn't great. There were some young kids in the screening today - much younger than when I first saw it - and there probably isn't enough going on (bar the pod race and end battle) to keep them interested.

Like I said, I still enjoy watching it though. Probably because I wasn't a whiny man-child in 1999, waiting for a film for 15 years and expecting it to take me back to my youth... WINK.

To be honest, Wikipedia's description of the saga as a "space opera" best sums it up. It isn't exactly a great story throughout and none of the films, I feel, are outstanding. They tap into every child's desire to see space battles, have super powers and twat things with a laser sword. I would bet most fans are enamoured with the series just because they watched them at a young age. Pity me, as I grew up with the prequel trilogy.

Arguably, the best thing about all the SW films is the setting and the universe Lucas creates. I feel it is probably better suited to games, mind...

The Skin I Live In :shock:/10

I've enjoyed a lot of Almadovar films without really loving them, so didn't go into this with too high expectations. I hadn't seen a trailer, or read any reviews, but just seen it on enough top 10 lists to add it to my rental queue. Wow! Easily my favourite of his films, and definitely in my top 10 of 2011.

Super Size Me - 8/10
Farenheit 9/11 - 6/10

Randomly watched some documentaries on Lovefilm on Xbox because I was bored. Both were entertaining, but Michael Moore does annoy me somewhat, he seems incapable of seeing any argument from the other side.

Also Michael Moore seems to be notorious to leave out any "postive" parts towards what he is campaigning against.

Technically I was unfortunate enough to grow up with the prequels too (I was 9/10 when Episode I came out) but luckily I have an older brother and sister so I had watched all the originals at a very young age. I also got to watch all the classic films from the 80s as a child. I didn't realise how lucky I was until I talked to people my own age and some of them haven't seen films like Back to the Future :fp:

Might give that film a watch. If it's sustainable, I'll strawberry floating show it to my mate who always defend Moore.

Watched Downfall again last night. Amazing film with some astonishing performances.

That scene with the Magda Goebbels killing their kids still leaves me speechless. Incredible.

Sound like something I'd enjoy so I'm downloading it... just noticed that there's also a 2012 remake listed on IMDb - it's only been 5 years :?
