Amazes me that you've managed to go that long without seeing it but glad you liked it. I still have to look away at the baby scene, but other than that, it's a magnificent film.

Columbiana 8/10 Not really an 8 but I marked it up a point for just how badass/sexy the woman is on the hit in the police station. Well worth a watch.

Dead Poets Society - 9/10

It's been a long time since I watched DPS and with Robin Williams recent death, I thought I would rewatch. And I am glad I did, it's as good and as inspiring as I remembered it.

You were extraordinary Robin. :cry:

Continuing the Robin Williams theme, I watched Mrs. Doubtfire, which is just as lovely, sweet and hilarious as I remember (with a few adult jokes that went over my head when I was little) and Good Will Hunting, which was very good too.

Also watched The Inbetweeners 2 now it's out there.

Really enjoyed it. Dragged in places, but plenty of fan service and lots of laughs. The series is still better, but it's definitely worth a watch.

Guardians of the Galaxy

This is how I want my super hero films. strawberry floating brilliant, not a bad character in sight and even for a Marvel film it had a decent villian.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 8/10

Easily the best Marvel film. The absurdity of everything is embraced in the best way possible, with some genuinely great humour and characters that are actually interesting (perhaps in large part because they were unknowns for me). It's still suffers from the usual Marvel emotional hollowness and generic broad-stroke villains but it's such a great roller coaster of laughs and spectacular CGI that for once it didn't bother me.

Sin City 2 A Dame To Kill For 6/10 Feel reviews are a bit harsh on this due to the time it's taken to come out. Stories aren't as strong as the first, but I still love that style.

Blue Ruin - 8/10

Knew I was going to enjoy this from the moment it started. You're pretty much captivated to seeing how the leads story plays out, very little is said, very little dialogue is needed. Found the pacing to be a little off at points when considering it's an hour and a half run time is a bit of negative. Very satisfying ending, though wasn't what I thought it was going to be from impressions I read.

Not seen it for a couple of years, but it's just as good as I remember it being. Clooney is perfect for the role, with the most intense stare I ever did see. Anton Corbijn sure knows how to make 'em. Really looking forward to watching A Most Wanted Man.

I should have researched the film a bit to be fair. Nick Hornby makes me cringe so bad.

I don't think I've really liked anything of his that I've read. Slam, High Fidelity and About a Boy were all pretty naff. The latter being the only film adaptation I've watched that improves on the book (Killing Me Softly > Nirvana based teen angst road trip)

I loved Long Way Down, but now I'm afraid to read the book in case it's actually awful.
