Trollhunter isn't really a horror film, is it? I haven't seen it but what I've read it's more of a fantasy thing. Or am I wrong?

No, you're probably right. It's listed as a Fantasy/horror on IMDB which is prob why XBMC listed it as a horror.

It's one of those wierd ones, where it's not really a horror but some people may find it scary. It's prob as much as a horror as Cloverfield is.

i.e not very.

Watched a few things recently.

Jurassic Park - Hello John/10 (10/10)

Source Code - 7/10

Adaptation 9/10. Another film showing that if you can get Nick Cage in the right role, he's not bad at all.

Battleships - 5/10 For a film based around the game, not alot has it in common. They did touch upon the grid reference a bit, which for me was the highlight of the film, but it's like Transformers meets Crysis. Some of the characters were strawberry floating annoying. Even Liam Neeson couldn't pull this out of the mire. That said it was kinda fun in places. And Rihanna didn't look as hot as usual.

The Bourne Legacy. 6/10. The weakest of the films despite great performances from the two leads.

VHS

It felt like a televised Stephen King Novel of short stories. Some of the Stories by themselves were OK, but felt really let down by the fact that none of the stories are linked. I spent half the movie trying to work out how Story A intertwined with Story C, and the short answer is they don't.

It also made no attempt to explain anything about the house and the dead/undead dude on the sofa

Despite that, I semi enjoyed the first and last Video, and one of the middle video's did make me jump, so...

The Grey - 8/10

I liked it. I thought Liam Nesson was awesome in this and it was a different kind of film, but yeah I liked it a lot.

That's what puts me off this film. The concept interests me but the fact that nothing links or adds to a big conclusion just kills my intrigue.

I thought Liam Neeson acted like his life depended on it.

The Grey

Cabin in the Woods - 9/10

Like chalky, went into it not really knowing much and thought it was brilliant. For me the funniest bit was when that controller dude starting shouting strawberry float you to all the Japanese school children.

Sunshine - 7/10. Good film, could have been so much better but for the last third.

Hitch - 6/10. Decent, throwaway film. Definitely watchable.

Monsters Inc. - 10/10. I don't know why I've put off watching this for eleven years, it's as incredible as all the other Pixar animations I've seen. Only got Cars and Cars 2 left to see(And Brave) and if what I've heard is right there's no real need to bother.

Margin Call. 8/10. Excellent film. Great cast and an intriguing story. It's on the US Netflix and well worth watching.

I watched it last night and that's pretty much how I feel about it.

Still really enjoyed it mind, just didn't like the direction of the last act or feel it was really necessary.

How would you have had the last act go?

I don't think it's perfect but there had to be some external threat in the film at some point and I thought it led to a nicely dramatic climax.

Yeah I actually liked how it all wrapped up, just not the device used to get there. Maybe it was the only way to achieve that sort of climax because I'm struggling to think of something else. Definitely well done, I just it to be a bit of jarring switch-up in relation to what had come before.

Possibly because I've seen it so many times I don't feel it anymore. I absolutely adore the scene where Mercury passes in front of the Sun, beautiful stuff.

In Time - 6

The central premise and Timberlake pretty much carry this as it has so many plot holes if you even think about it for a second the whole thing falls to pieces. Primarily why on earth it seems to be set in the present day :fp:

It's a shame because they could have done some really cool stuff with it. I've never been a big fan of Seyfried but she's crazy hot in this so that also helps.

The Avengers

Didn't see it in the cinema, but I enjoyed it immensely. I think I might even prefer it to TDKR, but that might just be because I saw that first. I'm gonna have to watch Thor & Cap America, as I haven't got around to it yet (I probably should have first :fp: )

Cars is nowhere near as bad as people make out. Cars 2 is utter dogshit though.
