Lifted from the Netflix thread, after being alerted by Don't Post, Lamemorph that Uwe Boll films is on Netflix.

Wedgie wrote:After being unable to finish three Uwe Boll films, I deduct the bastard is actually making his own films shite on purpose.

It reminds me of The Producers, but for real.

Blubberella is definitely delibrately bad. I was actually aghast at the dialogue. :slol:

Anyway, NO MORE Uwe Boll films for me. It's not even in the "so bad it's funny" camp. Just glad that Hideo Kojima said no bloody way when Uwe Boll said he's going to work on a MGS film.

I need to vent. I blame Lamemorph.

I just watched The Usual Suspects to clean myself. It didn't work. :(

Cloud Atlas - 7 or 8/10

I've never read the book before, so had no idea what it was about, and after three hours i'm still not really sure. I assume it's something to do with how one action can cause a massive reaction over a massive time period, but i'm not sure why the same actors were different characters for example. Still kind of processing what happened. It felt like it was ridiculously long though, I was getting bored until about the two hour mark when all the reactions started happening. It's one that needs a second watch for sure.

Django Unchained - Really enjoyed this. Probably Tarantino's best film since Jackie Brown. However, upon reflection it doesn't really stand upto scrutiny.

I'm talking about the King Schultz character. Who just seemed too good to be true (almost a Deus Ex Machina). The sort of character who could only exist in film. Someone who can find Django and his bounties with consummate ease, will be kind enough to train Django in the arts of gunfighting and then ultimately sacrifice himself needlessly, so the story can conclude with Django and his wife riding off into the sunset (Three is a crowd afterall)

My biggest problem was with King's death. Why would someone so intelligent do something so stupid?

I just rewatched Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction back to back recently and there's one thing that bother me.

John Travolta's character is not the same one as Michael Madsen's character, surely? Giving that their names are pretty much identical, and they both died in their film. Are they relatives?

And Nurse Bonnie who Mr White mentions in Reservoir Dogs is the same Nurse Bonnie who turns up in Pulp Fiction. Tarantino's films are littered with gooseberry fool like that.

Vincent Vega (Pulp Fiction) and Victor Vega (Reservoir Dogs) are brothers.

Laurence Dimmick a.k.a. Mr. White (Reservoir Dogs) and Jimmy Dimmick (Pulp Fiction) may be related somehow.

Jack Scagnetti (Natural Born Killers) and Seymour Scagnetti (mentioned in Reservoir Dogs) could be related.

Drexl Spivey (True Romance) and Marsellus Spivey (mentioned in Reservoir Dogs) could be related.

Earl McGraw (From Kill Bill Vol. 1, Grindhouse) and Edgar McGraw (Kill Bill Vol. 1, Grindhouse) are father and son. It is also possible that Michael Parks' character is related to the McGraws because Earl McGraw and Ambrose Pierce were both played by the same actor.

Bill and Budd are brothers.

Sgt. Donny Donowitz (Inglourious Basterds) and Lee Donowitz (True Romance) might be father and son or Uncle and Nephew

Me and the missus are working our way through all the Bond films. This one is enjoyable but for the wrong reasons. Awful script, awful acting and awful all over really. Hilarious though!

How did the best Bond theme song end up on one of the worst of the films?

The spy who loved me isn't that bad ;)

The Hobbit 5/5

Great film, really well made. Very entertaining, funny and touching at the same time. The "emotional" moments are done really tastefully and Martin Freeman deserves a lot of credit for tastefully delivering a role so smartly when it could have quite easily been given a tasteless and unnecessarily humble portrayal, he balances two sides of Bilbo superbly.

I haven't got there yet. ;)

Next up we have Roger Moore, the Bond I remember best from watching the movies as a kid. It's going to be interesting to see how much of it I remember (Man with the Golden Gun is the only one I remember well). In my head Jaws (not the shark) is in every single one, but I think he is only actually in two movies.

Scarface - 9/10

Good.

I think he got 'established' way to quickly though. Would have liked to have seen him doing more gooseberry fool like the first 'mission' and gradually building his way up rather than one dirty mission then suddenly he's all suits and money.

I am sure I had seen Connery before but I couldn't remember any of his films.

Lazenby is pretty awful (OHMSS is poor).

I am looking forward to getting onto the Dalton ones. Don't remember ever watching them.

All QT movies take place in the same universe. Cracked wrote about it (spoilers obviously!).

Apparently Tarantino wrote the part in PF for Madsen but Madsen signed on to do a different movie.
