Couple of quick questions. Which of the two difficulty settings did you play it on? And on what console - sounds like you are far from alone in the game crashing and losing your save file - wondered whether it was just a particular version.

Thing is, you'll only find me giving a 7 or higher in this thread. Because in order to become 'the last game I finished', it needs to be above average. Too much choice and too little free time to bother with a 4 or a 5.

Normal. I wish I followed the advice in the actual CoL thread that said to put it on hard. There is a new game plus mode which makes a 2nd play through tougher though, but there's no immediate replay value.
I was playing on PS4. It crashed more than once but my save file was intact, until the end one there.

Psychonauts (PC) - 8/10

Pretty enjoyable platformer, I felt it went bit meh at the end (the levels wise, the story/characters/ending is great) but didn't made me hate it other than possibly hunting for these fragments I've missed >_> I would like the start to be extended and makes you interact with other people at camp first before the main plot, but that's just me. Still good game either way.

Dead Island Ryder White DLC: 3/10

Awful DLC. It's basically taking away level up system and made Dead Island generic hack 'n' gunning game and I didn't really enjoy it much at all compared to original & Riptide gameplay.

Only redeemable factor is adding some more to the storyline, but that's it. Could've just read Wiki for that. Ah well, it was "free" (bought Humble Bundle Re-Bundle Deep Silver)

Home (PC)

Not sure what score to give to it, I've completed it once but I felt like I've missed something. It's genuinely made me wonder what I could discover if I take my time, do things differently and what has happened so far. While it's not outright horror-style it is still nerve-wrecking, after each information you get it always open up more questions you ask as you go through the game.

Might re-play it sometime in future and see what happens when I do it differently.

Metro LL - 6

Managed to finish it in the end. Nothing particularly special about the game, just another competent FPS in a sea of FPSs.

Yes?

Bioshock infinite 9/10

My second time completing, a year on from first time. Was interesting to pick up the clues as you go, things I never noticed or found first time around. Still really enjoyed it, probably more so than the original. I accept that people prefer rapture, it feels more logical, but to me it was too gloomy. I prefer the vibrancy of Columbia. I also prefer the story of infinite, it's ending is actually one of it strong points whereas the original ends like a damp squib.

Skyward Sword - 9/10

Started in 2011, finally finished it thanks to my friend egging me on to do it these past two weeks (done three quarters of the game in that time)

I was never a huge fan when I first started, but going back to it made me realise why I loved the characterisation of everyone and the areas you explored. The dungeons especially were top notch and there were very few *sigh* moments in it for me.

The music and the ending.

Wolfenstein.

Comfortable 8..,maybe 9/10

Apart from the nazis and shooting..I never expected any of what I experienced in that game.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Etrian Odyssey Untold - 9/10

Took me a long time to beat this, feels good to finally put it to rest. I thought it was great, I'm glad I took the plunge with it as this was the first one in the series I've played. A very rewarding experience and another fine game in the 3DS library. I loved the exploration and map making aspects. I was a bit weirded out by it at the start, but it the map making is really fun. The final areas are monstrously difficult though. By about the fifth stratum, things were killing my dudes pretty easy, I'd be reviving some party members after every fight. It was tense.

Wolfenstein: The New Order - 4/5.

Great game. Not much bad to say about it. The guns aren't all that - never really felt that satisfying to use and the bigger enemies don't telegraph damage they've taken very well, but that's all an aside to the real star of the show, which is the setting(s), characters, story and writing.

Puzzle Quest 2 - 6/10

+ Some of the puzzles can be fun
+ The music was alright

- The story
- The tedious quests
- The voice acting
- The unbelievably repetitive nature of it all
- It goes on for maybe three or four times what it should do

I'd list the original Puzzle Quest as one of my favourite DS games. I'm colour-blind and I can rarely play many of the 'match-up' puzzle games*, but the inclusion of symbols on the colours allowed me to play this one.

Even so, I never tried the follow-up as reviews suggested it wasn't quite as good as the original; your review appears to back this up, Lotus. Have you played the first one? That one lasted for ages, too!

* Including Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes on the DS, which by all accounts is a super game. I just can't spot the different flashes of colour on the characters.

The second one's a weird dungeon crawler take on it, not as bad as the space one but certainly inferior

Yeah, I've played/completed the first one. That one got boring for me as well, but otherwise it was decent.

PQ2's 'main' puzzle format (i.e. the battles) is probably better, and certainly the navigation/wandering around town is loads better, but for me it still gets really repetitive and there's way too much of it. Plus they've added other puzzles (still in the same format, but with different 'rules').

Want to open a door? Here's a puzzle.
Want to pick up some loot? Here's a puzzle.
Want to get taught a new spell? Here's a puzzle.
Want to disarm a trap? Here's a puzzle.

You get the idea. The frequency of unavoidable enemies, and the battles that entails, and the above, just made it get very tedious, very quickly.

Splinter cell: Blacklist

Loved it to bits, cracking game. The only nitpick I can think of is the missions are good BUT they don't have a good mission structure as choas theory.

Edit: something else that I really enjoyed was the final boss fight. No countless baddies before you take on the big baddie, it's strictly a one on one confrontation. Bosses lke that are hard to come by these days.
