The Last of Us (PS3) - 17 million copies sold

The Last of Us is a genre-defining experience that blends survival and action elements to tell a character driven tale about a modern plague decimating mankind. Wells confirmed Naughty Dog veterans Neil Druckmann (creative director) and Bruce Straley (game director) are leading the project, and promised to discuss "how we've been working as a two team studio".

I'm geuinely surprised by this. First of all it's great to see a new IP and not another sequel. Secondly, Naughty Dog famously only ever work on one game at a time so I was never expecting a new game from them so soon.

On a CG forum where ND posted some Uncharted 2 wireframes and textures, someone commented that most of the artists who had worked on Uncharted and Uncharted 2 were not working on the third game, and had presumably left ND, but actually they probably just moved to this game instead. Other than that tiny hint nobody knew anything about this 2nd team.

It also makes more sense now why Sony would buy ND their own motion capture studio.

Edit: The teasers to this game focussed a lot on ants, so that probably was a reference to the above video with the fungus that grows out of their heads.

The last two games Uncharted games have both had one 'holy gooseberry fool! that made me jump' moment. In Uncharted 2 it was when you first see the Yeti. Really big coup that they have Ellen Page in this. WP Naughty Dog.

Naughty Dog put a heck of a lot of time strain on their actors so it's really impressive they've got her signed up for this.

Is the male character Troy Baker?(Yuri in ToV)

So the director of Uncharted 2 and lead designer of Enslaved are working on this.

I really hope that's not Ellen Page, as I'd like to play this.

Also, that's blatantly an old Nathan Drake.

It actually sounds exactly like Ellen Page. And the character is called Ellie.

Looks interesting. Still hoping Naughty Dog are working on a new Uncharted game alongside this though. Uncharted has been my favourite series this gen.
