With the hottest being black or at the very least mixed race.

Okay, as long as I get the nutty version of Barbara.

Maniac - 9/10, Neflix Original, can't recommend it highly enough.
Manages to be funny, charming and thought provoking.
Some episodes are a complete mindfuck.

Power: S1; 7/10. Quite enjoyable feels like a mix of a few programs with a ton of sex  If there is a man and woman in the shot it's only a matter of time before they're ripping each other's clothes off, it should be a drinking game. Latino Police Officer Angela is just :datass: Tommy feels like a caricature of Trevor straight out of GTA V.

I liken it to Hollyoaks meets Soprano's on the streets

Finished the first season of True Detective earlier and thought it was fantastic. Aside from being an intriguing mystery and character drama, there's an attention to detail that I know will make repeat viewings just as interesting, I loved all the symbology and philosophical elements. Some of Rust's monologues would have been completely killed by how up their own arse they are with anything less than perfect casting, so I'm glad that I couldn't really picture anyone doing a significantly better job than McConaughey, he and Woody Harrelson were both excellent.

I loved what I interpreted as an almost Lovecraftian atmosphere throughout the series. I don't know, or really care, if that was intentional on the creators part but the last 30 minutes or so rewarded that feeling with some of the imagery.

Highly recommended, and a new addition to my list of favourite shows.

Ozark Season Two – 6/10

I think there is a good show inside of Ozark, but it hides it away amongst a lot of boring crap. Despite liking a lot of it, it felt like a chore to get through.

How would you rate season one?

This seem to be well regarded online and so has been on my radar as a potential watch for a while but I'm not sure I can take on another show if it's not going to be worth it!

It was well over a year ago that I watched Season One, but I remember enjoying it.

Season Two isn't bad, but it just left me feeling like it was a struggle to watch it all.

Okay thanks, I think I'll keep it on the "monitor" pile for now.

Happy.

Actually quite enjoyable (checked on the interweb after finishing to see if there is going to be a series 2 which is an indication of goodness). Best to watch around Christmas as it is set then.

Rick and Morty – Seasons 1 to 3 – 8.5/10

I have heard a lot of hype about this show and figured I ought to get around to watching it. I didn’t enjoy the first episode at all when I tried it months ago and so didn’t bother with the rest until my wife started demanding I watch it so she could talk about it.

It’s actually a great show. Funny, inventive and even a little heartbreaking. It’s not worth protesting to McDonald’s about though, the sauce can’t be that good.

Rick and Morty is a fantastic but has one of the worst fan bases which somehow manages to make me think less of the show itself somehow.

Still I'm glad they are going to be making more of them after it was looking somewhat hairy following season 3.

Thoroughly enjoyed episode 2 of Michael Palin in North Korea last night.

10/10

One of the best shows i've seen all year.

Haven't they commissioned a ridiculous number of episodes now, another 100 at least I think.

And yeah. I used to love telling people about the show but now I'd be embarrassed to. It's great TV but a terrible identifier.

Finally got around to finishing S7 of Game of Thrones.

Well, the odds are certainly stacked up against them and none of it helped by that silly cow Cersei, whose insanity is blinding her to the reality of the situation.

Anyway, not a bad series. Splendid in many ways, spectacular even, but infuriating and just plain silly in others.

Luke Cage Season 2 - 7/10

Dragged on a bit towards the end and the Jamaican dialects were a little too heavy to understand in places (do I really want want to know what raasclaat means?).

Was surprisingly violent too the restaurant massacre and Mariah slitting someone's throat were unexpectedly graphic for a Marvel show

Goliath, season 2. Slightly more disturbing than season 1, but equally as enjoyable. Am I the only person that watches this? If so and you've got Amazon, enjoy.

Seems just me watching TV these days...

Santa Clarita Diet, season 2. Enjoyable and funny. Liked this more than season 1 and glad there will be a season 3. 8

Maniac. Also enjoyable and was impressed by Jonah Hill's acting (he gets very few serious roles). The great thing about Netflix series is that they don't have to make an episode last exactly 43 minutes (padded to an hour with commercials for other channels). Some episodes are as short as 28 minutes where as others are in the 50s. Quite an odd setting (appears to be some kind of alternative 80s) and an interesting story. Check it out if you can't decide what next to watch. 7.5

Power: S4 - 8/10; less sex scenes and more twists and turns I never seen the daughter getting capped and was quite shocked by that. Episodes seem to speed along with very little fluff, just got Season 5 left on Netflix but need to get upto speed with Better Call Saul S4 first. I'm surprised at how good 50 Cent is in Power, see Starz Network have backed his company with $170 million dollar deal [he's decent but not sure he's that good :slol: ]
