I love the Expanse, other than a few people on here, I have never heard it mentioned anywhere else. Very underrated.

I love that it is like two shows in one. You have the political situation between Earth/Mars/the Belt. And then you also have the more action orientated situation with the alien/mystical protomolecule.

The Genius - Season 2 - 9/10

Another stonking season of the South Korean game show and some even more devious games this time around. I was a bit unsure about the new contestants, but the return of Jinho and Sangmin () helped to ease into it and in the end the new contestants were just as good, if not better than the previous seasons. A couple of welcome tweaks to the formula with the addition of the Token of Immortality.

Far more devious and more backstabbing going on than season 1 which was welcome too.

Some absolutely brutal episodes as well, specifically the Monopoly game. Mind blown multiple times during that one.

Seriously if you've not watched this yet, you should be checking out the first season on Youtube (In it's entirety) and go from there. Utterly compelling stuff from start to finish. It's a very smart show and extremely well thought out and implemented. Well worth watching.

Yeah that really helps it as it means you aren't following the same thing for too long. Brilliant show, roll on Season 3 ! !

Counterpart Season 1 - 9/10

Loved it, loved the premise, J.K. Simmons is amazing Mental how well he plays both his parts loved the setup for season 2 Quayle is so out of his depth, and is so strawberry floated, and everything depends on him. Also crazy how the side wehre Howard had everything go wrong is the better life for both (Stuck in a dead end career, no daughter, and a cheating wife)

Only bad thing is no one else seems to be watching it, first 2 episodes were a little slow, but once it properly started it has been fantastic. I guess as it has no UK availability is where that falls down.

Dirk Gently (S2) - Even more ridiculous than the first season. I wasn't so keen on the fairytale stuff, or the useless cops, but other than that it was good fun. Think I preferred first season though. 8/10

Gomorrah (S1) - This was incredible, one of the best seasons of TV I've seen. Dark and violent, but shot beautifully and with some interesting (but mostly evil) characters. Highly recommended! 10/10

One thing I may have missed in Gomorrah, hopefully someone here can explain: Near the start it is revealed that there is a mole making calls to the police, and then when Ciro burns the paper I assumed he was the mole. This then never gets mentioned again and I'm wondering if Ciro was making the mole phonecalls to manipulate people or if someone else was the mole and it just was never revealed who? but no spoilers past season 1 please!

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 2 - 9/10

I loved the first season and thought the second was just as good.

The Punisher.

Strange one, first episode quite good but then it sort of treaded water for quite a few episodes (using up the massive budget by filming 80% of the scenes in the same room) and then getting back to Punisher type stuff in the last few episodes.

Violence is clearly more graphic than any of the other Marvel Netflix series.

Brooklyn 99 - series 3

Still one of, if not the funniest series on TV. Long may it continue.

Netflix’s latest big documentary: Wild Wild Country 8/10.

A Guru in the 1980’s comes to Oregon from India and starts a cult, which leads to the first ’bioterror attack’ in the US.

Episode one is very slow but stick with it as episodes 2-6 are fantastic. I was only born in ‘83 can’t believe I haven’t heard more about this until now.

Just started back watching the latest series (5?) of this myself. It is a great show, although by this point it does feel like you've seen everything it has to offer. That's not really a complaint btw - it's still funny as strawberry float and not every show needs to constantly reinvent itself!

Andre Braugher is the lynchpin of the whole thing for me. It's obviously an ensemble piece and lots of them are doing great work, but take Captain Holt out of the equation and I'd say the whole thing would get at least 50% worse!

Mindhunter

Don't normally like stuff about serial killers but heard this was good so decided to give it a watch and I'm glad I did, It's brilliant from start to finish with some genuinely disturbing performances by the actors portraying a couple of the serial killers (Ed Kemper was a scary, scary guy ) .

I think the latest series being shown on E4 is series 4. Agreed, Captain Holt is mega and when in a previous series it looked like they were getting a new captain, I was wondering if my enjoyment would drop.

I don't think it is important that it tries new things, just that it remains funny.

Who wouldn't want to find out who is next year's amazing detective/genius?

Jessica Jones - Season 2 - 6/10

This wasn’t bad but suffered as I really enjoyed the first season and this was nowhere near as good.

Finished season 2 at the weekend - better than the first season but I was sad to see Major Campbell die, he was a great villain and it would have been cool to see these 2 trade blows for another season at least. The Italian gangster (Sebini?) had the worst accent I've heard in a long time, it was ridiculous. Still don't like the modern music.

Halfway through season 3 already though, so it's watchable.

Gomorrah (Season 2) - Carries on right where S1 finished and continues to pull no punches. They did a great job of keeping everyone involved (or killing them off).
This has to be the only show on TV where every character is despicable - there's nobody to root for!

Just started in on The Vietnam War. It's a bit bombastic (lots of crashes and bangs to indicate time shifts) but it's some fascinating stuff. Perhaps the most revelatory aspect for me though has been the inclusion of Vietnamese talking heads, both North and South.

Basically, I'm hooked.

Yes, I got a two week free trial of NowTV Entertainment Pass - all three seasons are on there.
When I went to cancel they offered me 4 months at £3.99 which is cheap enough for me to keep it and rewatch The Sopranos :D
