The End Of The F***ing World

Really good black comedy, wasn't sure at first whether I'd warm to the characters but by the third episode I was rooting for them. Finale didn't quite go the way I wanted it to but still enjoyed it very much indeed. The reversing over the dog scene had me in tears.

8/10

Seinfeld Season 1 – 6/10

I have never seen any Seinfeld but after watching a few episodes of Comedians in Cars getting Coffee, I decided I should rectify this. Season 1 isn’t great though, it’s ok but is not exactly jumping out at me, there are only 5 or so episodes in the first season so it wasn’t a big time commitment. There’s enough there to keep my attention though and (from looking at IMdB ratings) I am expecting things to improve.

Tin Star - 7/10

Beautifully shot and Tim Roth is great. The build up and reveal to what was going on was well done but I wish it was possible for new TV shows to wrap up and not end on a cliff hanger. It could have been a nice, self contained thing and told a pretty decent story but instead they are going to try and string out another series.

Oh no what’s he done? Is that why it wasn’t renewed for a season 3? Don’t feel as bad about pirating it now.

There was a load of stuff on twitter from Zoe Quinn too. It was something of an open secret that the guy was a first class banana split and that his dad's name had protected him for years. Not that it was hard to guess, the guy wrote a novel length creeper manifesto about Carly Ray Jepson.

He was also dropped from the Bright sequel after the allegations emerged. I still can't strawberry floating believe there's going to be a Bright sequel.

I liked Bright :shifty: .

I can understand why some didn't though as it was an odd mix of high fantasy and modern US gangster and I normally strawberry floating hate gangster stuff.

Even as a layman, I feel I could write several essays on just how terribly Bright was written, cast, envisioned, directed and performed. It was a disaster on every level of conception and enactment. The meshing of genres was about the only good thing about that piece of gooseberry fool.

Fair enough.
I'd have given it a 5 or 6 so not great but watchable. I only watched it to test out HDR on my new TV as HDR content is still a bit thin on Netflix.
You have to give the film credit for not having Jaden Smith in it as he's just terrible in everything.

Dark [Netflix]

Interesting storyline, but felt like there was too much padding and non essential story stuff in there. Interesting ending and setup for season 2. 6

The Good Place - Season 2 [Nextflix]
Enjoyed season 1 and it had a particularly good ending. Season 2 felt like it was running out of steam and not as enjoyable. Hopefully more of a return to form in season 3. 7

Yes?

I never heard anything about him, so I enjoyed the season. Realistically at this stage every movie or TV show ever made had some sexual deviant behind the scenes.

Yeah, unfortunately that seems to be the case for a lot of people. The allegations against him seem to have been snuffed out again and most people remain unaware of his general awfulness.

Season 1 is by far the worst. Things will start to pick up in season 2/3 onwards but you’re in for many gems if you stick with it.

Yeah I agree. Season 1 is very average. Season 2 isn't much better but it starts to pick up by Season 3. Then I'd say Season 4 is probably the greatest series of any sitcom/comedy show ever, there's just so many classic episodes. Then after that it mostly maintains it's greatness, with just a slight dip I'd say in seasons 8 & 9, when Larry David left. They're still very good, but the story lines just got a little too crazy.

Also, Comedians in Cars getting Coffee is great isn't it? Very addictive.

I am about halfway through season 2 and it is already much much better than the first season. I am glad to know that it improves further from here!

Comedians in Cars getting Coffee is great, the short episode lengths really help as well, before you get a chance to be sick of a guest, you are onto the next one. I hope Seinfeld/Netflix make lots more.

Yeah, you're in for a treat!

He's definitely making more Comedians in cars, it's only just been bought by Netflix, it was originally just an online show on it's own website, I think 80% of the episodes on Netflix are from that website, so hopefully there will be some new stuff soon.

Hard Sun

Lots of murder and mayhem, yet strangely compelling, it's the first BBC drama to draw me in for years - 7/10

I watched the whole series when it was first put onto BBC Iplayer and while I liked it they've kind of screwed themselves with that ending.

The show is set now so how do they deal with a black hole eating the sun? Even if the show completely changes and focuses on a global initiative to somehow save the Sun I have no idea how we'd manage with the level of technology we have now. More likely is the show showing the world slowly falling apart as the realisation hits everyone that we're doomed and I don't think they have the budget to pull that off.
