Excellent and griping stuff. Can't believe it took us so long to get around to watching it.

I might take a look at this. I've just bounced off Inventing Anna (watched four episodes but I think that's enough for me) and perhaps this could be next up.

They do this cool thing in it where they show you the real footage of the scene they've just done every now and then. It's very well done just how close they got to recreating things. Pedro Pascal is great in I too (he's so hot right now).

I hugely enjoyed Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul; I'm not really one for violent crime but if there is a decent storyline then I can get invested in it. I'll try out the first episode tonight!

Narcos S1 to S3 is one of the best things Netflix have done, quite comfortably.

You've made all the other Netflix shows feel like this.

This meme is the reason why it's one of the best things Netflix have done.

Speaking of Narcos - anyone watched Griselda yet?

Same team behind it telling the story of Griselda Blanco - the woman who became the Miama "Cocaine Godmother", plays a bit fast and loose with the real story but it was a pretty entertaining ride - 8/10

See S1 - 7/10
See S2 - 5/10
See S3 - 4/10

This is comfortably the worst thing I’ve watched on Appletv, partly enforced by the other half. I knew about 15 minutes into the first episode that the blindness was going to be entirely superficial and so it proved to be. If you didn’t know when you turned it on you wouldn’t notice, that’s how inconsequential it is. Acting is so so but the plot is uninteresting and all over the place and pretty standard post apocalyptic fare. Diminishing returns season on season as the story doesn’t really go anywhere and central characters become increasingly annoying. Glad it’s over.

Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power

I wasn't really expecting much from this, but it's fair to say it surpassed my expectations by some distance. It suffers from some of the same problems that plagued the Hobbit trilogy (and with retrospect, the extended versions of LotR), pacing issues, bad CG, some mediocre story arcs. But overall I found a lot to enjoy, and I'd quite happily watch a whole season of young Elrond and the dwarves. Not bad at all.

7/10

Pretty much what I thought at the time. The best parts were with the elves and dwarves; the humans and hobbits not so much. Morfydd was great though.

Halo series 2.

I don't care what anyone says, I really liked this and the set-up for series 3 is great.

The stuff on the Halo itself looks like it'll be good enough but the battle in space is still yet to be resolved and the infection at the base of operations needs sorting. It sometimes annoys me that fans can't just let this series be its own thing and go in a different direction as this story is as good as the story of the games.

I really hope we get series 3 as series 2 was a 9/10 from me :toot: .

White Lotus series 1 - 7/10

I don't know how to actually describe the series, but it absolutely nails the annoying rich Americans at a posh resort thing. The staff's faces when they watch a guy bypass all the nice traditional food in favour of scrambled egg, bacon, waffles and token fruit on the side

Criminal Record (Season 1, AppleTV) - 5/10
Totally agree with MHTLs assessment; despite a promising start, this was pretty mediocre (think an average episode of The Bill). Which is a shame, as Jumbo does her best, but the writing / script just wasn't up to scratch.

Malcolm in the Middle - 8.5/10

I noticed this was on Disney and so decided it was due a rewatch. I don't think I've seen any of it for 15-20 years, but was pleasantly surprised by just how well it has held up. It's very funny still and Dewey & Reece are fantastic characters.

Lois and Hal are strawberry floating terrible parents though.

Lois is downright abusive to them.

But yeah, it's a great show that holds up today.

I too recently did a rewatch and whilst the quality dipped in the final two series, its a very very good show. Dewey in particular is great.

She really is. She gets worse as the series goes on, but the abuse was there at the start. The punishments were horrific even for a comedy show.

I like that Francis never forgot the abuse she put him through. It's written in a whiny "mom, I hate you!" sort of way, but he was right in almost all of his criticism of her.
