Seinfeld - well I've still got the finale to go but I'm saving that.

Seen all 9 seasons now as I've never actually sat and watched the whole thing, only ever clips/random episodes in reruns and it was great from start to finish pretty much. Season 8 and 9 you could see where Larry David departed because the stories started to get a little too ridiculous in some parts, but even then it was hilarious. It's difficult to rate something a 10/10 but in terms of sitcoms I think this and original Fraiser are definitely the two best ones I've ever seen. The main characters are all horrific, awful people but it just makes you hooked on what horrific thing they're going to do next. The side characters I think without a doubt were the main stars though, there were so many good ones and if anything I feel like the show could've benefitted more leaning on them a bit more.

Just rewatched Don't Hug Me I'm Scared on channel 4.

I think I said it before, but other than the first few seasons, I think the show did get a bit tired at times during each season. There's only so many 'Kramer getting food out of the fridge' variations before it started getting predictable, and all the best 'George's theories on women' lines were earlier rather than later in the show. Jerry Seinfeld was the weakest thing in it by far, which always amused me.

Although, all of this is probably true of all long-running comedy shows. At it's best it was great fun though.

I'm going to watch it later - I've seen it before years and years ago (one of the random episodes I saw). It'll be good watching it with somewhat full context now.

To add to this I actually thought the finale was really good (just watched it). It's a fitting end to their characters given how utterly awful they are to everyone. The testimonies worked really well and it even did it's best in some ways to paint them even worse as a good number of them were them trying to do nice things but it either being taken out of context or missunderstood.

I think I need to watch Curb from here, only ever seen the odd clips and Larry David is amazing so will 100% be jumping on that as my next long show.

The Gentlemen - 8/10

It's basically an 8 hour Guy Ritchie gangster movie. If you like Guy Ritchie gangster movies then you'll love this, otherwise you'll hate it.

It should have been a huge eye roll moment, but I loved that they cast Giancarlo Esposito as the leader of an enormous meth business.

You should definitely watch Curb, there's a full Seinfeld reunion mid-way through the show.

I always vastly preferred Curb Your Enthusiasm. It's sort of like Seinfeld but with Larry David fully unleashed and nothing to hold him back. Final few seasons dipped a little in quality though, but still very decent.

There's only been one great season since season 8 finished- the Spite Store one.

We've watched most of it, and on more than one occasion my Mrs has turned to me and said, "Jesus christ it's just like you".

As someone who enjoys Guy Ritchie gangster movies, I'm not convinced I find the idea of an 8 hour Guy Ritchie movie that appealing

In the 1 hour I assume pilot Jason says a few times that he thought the stories were getting too ridiculous and it wouldn't happen to anyone, but then Larry said it's actually a true story of something that happened to him. I can't tell just how exaggerated Curb's Larry David is though - there seems to be very conflicting reports of how he actually is in real life.

Masters Of The Air

It's a bit Americanised and doesn't quite reach the same heights as Band Of Brothers or The Pacific, but it's an engrossing watch nevertheless. Superbly acted, some fascinating and moving stories detailing the horrors of war. The Berlin bombing run scenes in particular are incredibly well done.

Pretty sure in Season 2 Jason Alexander says nobody would ever eat food out of a bin and Larry gets annoyed saying that he did do that and there's nothing wrong with it.

What is a documented fact though is Larry quit Saturday Night Live and then went back to work the next day pretending nothing had happened.

Masters of the Air (limited series, AppleTV) - 7.5/10
The characterisation is pretty thin, it's often formulaic, schmaltzy and America, strawberry float yeah! However, after the first two average episodes it all kicks off from episode 3 (with a spectacular dogfight) and manages to maintain its cruising altitude for the rest of the series.

So, yeah, MHTL was on point!
