Dark 8/10

Ever seen those Simon Stalenhag pictures that pop up on the internet every now and again?

Image

This is the closest realisation I've seen of his work, even if it's not in a overtly sci-fi series...at the start at least. This is basically a German take on Stranger Things and all that entails; a more mature atmosphere, a complete lack of nostalgia, a more esoteric structure. It's a much more interesting take than ST 2nd series which, although entertaining, was simply a rehash of the first. This takes a difference approach to similar topics, and is much more successful.

Gravity Falls season 2 - 8/10.

What can I say. I'll never grow up and continue to watch cartoons until I die.

I found season 2 a bit of a let down. Didn't really like Bill Cipher as a villian. The first season was a lot better. Although I'd probably give them a 10/10 7/10

I've been watching through DS9 as I bought the DVD box set a year ago now. I didn't realise how long it took for them to get to the main event of the show. Really enjoying it though, think it's my favourite Star Trek series. I'm slightly embarrassed that one of my favourite episodes made the worst of list though.

Halt And Catch Fire - 8/10

Watched all four seasons relatively quickly there. I'm actually surprised I liked it as much as I did, given that I found the four main characters to be mostly insufferable. Good show, though. Went from strength to strength.

Wormwood - 6/10

Was ok. Not really into the whole docudrama thing. It was dealing with an interesting subject, but, by Christ, did they rip the arse out it. Should have been 3 episodes rather than 6

Dark - 9/10

Thought this was fantastic. Has a really unique sensibility. I hope I'm proved wrong but I feel like a continuation of it is only going to diminish it.

End of the strawberry floating World - 9/10

Superb coming-of-age program. Lived up to the hype.

I enjoyed it but was a bit disappointed as I thought it was going to be an apocalypse story about a psychopath and a girl who didn’t know he was planning to kill her.

I had similar ideas  I really knew nothing coming into the show, just the title which took me down the wrong, inevitable path.

Felt exactly the same. Was disappointed that the ending was basically a setup for a wider arc with 'good' and 'evil' sides. Was all very Lost.

Mindhunters - 7. Sort of got less interesting mid series but pulled it back towards the end
Lucifer S1 & S2 - 8. Really like this, light, almost mindless entertainment and wasn't what I expected at all. No one else watch this?

Yes?

I grew to like Joe over the 4 seasons and Gordon I sort of liked all through but Joe overtook him at some point. Thought Donna and Cameron were bitches though (most of the time).

My current desktop background is a constantly changing loop of 20+ of those.

I'll definitely be watching that after I finish Black Mirror.

Just finished watching Miriam's Big American Adventure which is available on Iplayer and it's excellent.
Miriam herself is lovely and a great presenter and the look into the heart of America is interesting and enjoyable in equal measure and I think everyone will love it.

9.5/10 with only .5 being taken away as it was only 3 episodes and I could have gladly watched much much more.

Agree with that. A superb view on middle America shown by a lovable presenter with no fear to say what's on her mind and call people out on their bullshit.

Hard Sun

Loved this. From the makers of Luther - All the good things from a gritty British police drama with a sci-fi twist. Main characters are excellent. Looking forward to seeing where it goes in the next series. 9/10

I can't actually remember that one, looking at the Memory Alpha entry for it. Weird.

It's a pretty early episode. It doesn't really move the plot forward at all it's just filler. Personally I don't think I've seen a bad episode of DS9. Although I have the last two seasons to go.

Yep exactly how my girlfriend and I felt. It's a shame because everything was set up for a way to close the loop and have a nice self contained story. Felt like a bit of a cop out to what was otherwise a very entertaining and engrossing show.
