Really enjoyed the first episode last night even if it pretty much was an episode of the Daily Show without an interview segment. The Indian election stuff was great.

It really was disgraceful just how little coverage of the Indian elections were happening, every strawberry floating clip that talked about it also seemed to be the BBC

Was good stuff, not all that much to really differentiate it from the Daily Show but it is only the first episode. So far so good

Love the fact the second half of the show isn't dominated by a serious interview. Hate that on TDS.

I think they could extend the show for an extra 15 minutes simply so he can spend a little more time on some of the subjects but that is the only thing I could even think of as a possible adjustment.

They have talked about expanding the show to an hour or having it on more than once a week as well as giving Oliver a new home for his stand-up -- once Oliver gets his feet under him.

A lot more in this lengthy interview - http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/j ... hbo-696165

Sweet, I would rather the extended it rather than have more than one episode a week.

Thought it was a decent first episode, though oddly it did feel as though it needed an add break as it felt a bit breathless at times.

Not sure about the interview segment at the end, it's the same with the Daily Show in that I've always found the mock interviews cringe inducing rather than funny. Would be a shame if it's just always like that and I always end up skipping it.

Handled the death penalty thing really well. I like John Oliver but he does grate a little when he repeats/explains jokes. He doesn't need to all the time. Show will really be something interesting if they keep sticking to more world news and stuff the US media there aren't covering as much as they should

I think HBO went mental on takedown notices.

Oh god, that Alison Grimes attack ad.

So this is definitely a HBO show then. strawberry floating hell.

HBO are always taking down stuff, had major issues pirating GoT S3 a while back.

Game of Thrones is normally easier to find than Veep for some reason. Veep is gone almost immediately.
