Do you think so?

Looking at it from another point of view, it's been on the chart for around 2 months since release, any other PS3 or 360 games released the same week that are still in the chart?

Surely he means in regards to how much it cost to initially develop it.

More than 20 of the 27 games that sold more than it last week have been on the charts longer than it...its not good, put it that way.

Maybe, but there is no formula that states revenue = development costs X a

Yes, but how many of those 20 are Wii, DS, bundles or discounted games? (I did originally say out of PS3 and 360 releases, Wii and DS is a different market).

Even if you limit it, its still something like 10 games that have been on the charts a whole hell of a lot longer selling more.

And I don't think counting the Wii and DS as a 'different market' makes much sense...I mean a different market in that they sell a lot more to more people...but they are all videogames.

Well, I do, and that's why I said it. Wii and DS have the biggest user base so it's more difficult to compare the relative success in the charts.

And you would have said the same thing about PS2 games last generation?

Well, it's certainly running away from a decent chart position.

Any other game, & Killzone 2 would be classed as a solid success. But then most games don't cost €25 million.

Yes, if we were to compare GC and XBox sales performance to PS2 games. Best judge of a games relative success is probably how well it fares on the platform's individual chart.

I think Killzone 2 had got to 1.41 million sales as of last week, it will continue to sell with the hardware for a very long time and will make money through DLC as well. It will turn a profit I'm sure and the technology bonus to the rest of the first party devs is invaluable.
