Ubisoft are No1 and No2 for Second Week

Ubisoft’s Xbox 360 ‘Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction’ (-46%) takes a second week at No1 and Ubisoft also remain at No2 with Wii ‘Just Dance’ (-31%).

Rockstar/Take2’s ‘Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City’ remains at No3 thanks to the release last week of PS3/PC versions (-31%) and Nintendo climb one place to No4 with ‘Wii Fit Plus’ (-3%). This week’s big new entry at No5 is Capcom’s internally developed ‘Monster Hunter Tri’ on Wii, the most successful version of this franchise so far in terms of launch sales / position on the All Formats Chart. ‘Monster Hunter’ was first seen in the UK on PS2 in May 2005 and this was followed by 3 PSP versions (Monster Hunter Freedom, 2006 / Freedom 2, 2007 / Freedom Unite, 2009). The only other new entry this week is Namco Bandai’s ‘Dead to Rights: Retribution’ at No22, developed by UK studio Volatile Games (a division of Blitz Games). This is a first next gen outing for the franchise - ‘Dead to Rights’ was first seen in 2003 on PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC (developed by Namco).

If anyone's wondering why Band Hero on DS is doing so well, it's because HMV is selling it for £4.98.

Who were the people who thought Monster Hunter wouldn't make the top 20?

I honestly didn't think Monster Hunter would chart that high. Really didn't see this having much of a mainstream appeal. I guess advertising does pay off

Nah, he has been the person keeping Splinter Cell at number 1. He has bought a copy for each 360 he owns.

Don't think you should be laughing at that! You're responsible for the ps3 shortage on your own.

Difficult for any PC game to chart. Unless it has serious mainstream appeal, like Football Manager, any game with a half-decent hardcore fanbase will lose a goodly chunk of it's sales data to Steam and other digital distribution services.

Surely this should show all the hapless publishers out there.

Game on Wii

Don't advertise = game WILL FLOP

I've seen loads of MHTri adverts around and simply they are paying off
