It's quite the 50/50 split between Newcastle & Sunderland where I live. I support Newcastle United (Top Half, just) and couldn't even tell you why it's just always been that way my Dad hates sport, my Mum loves sport but is 'nice' and supports all North East teams :dread: so I couldn't say I'd been influenced even.

The poll really should include non-league teams.

Anyway - bottom half of league 2 8-)

I expect our demographic will be a majority split between 1st-4th and 5th-7th because I think the two biggest supported clubs are Liverpool and Man Utd.

I support Liverpool. Why? I'm not entirely sure how I came to support them as my dad and older brother support Man Utd. I think that when I was about 5 my mum bought me and my brother football shirts and I got a Liverpool one. I don't know if I asked for one or my mum just picked a different one but that's what I got and I've supported them ever since!

Well it's unfair to restrict the thread to football league fans. The title is too specific. Discrimination against the fans of smaller clubs ;)

Normally I would agree, but I am loving the discrimination against Gasheads. 8-)

I misread the poll :( voted 'top half' but didn't realise that was Premier League only. Can I change my answer?

Anyway, I support Nottingham Forest. Although I lived in Enfield until I was eight, my mum's family are from Nottinghamshire and my Grandad always followed Forest since the days of Clough. Therefore, I already had them down as 'my team'. Then when we moved back up here when I was eight I carried on supporting them as they were the local team and Newark is a real Forest supporting town, bar the usual Chelsea/Man U drones and splattering of Notts County and Lincoln City.

My parents were never a big influence sports wise so I guess I became a 'real' supporter in 2002 when I was about 13 and could get to a game. I remember my first game vividly, went with my Brother and Dad when we played Rotherham. Won 3-2 but were 3-0 up at half time so the second half was real squeaky bum time and I was hooked

I also have soft spots for Aberdeen (where my paternal side of the family all hail from), Mansfield (lived there after moving out) and Chesterfield (town where I was born). The last two are an unusual mix to say the least :slol:

I support Wimbledon AFC because clearly they are the best team. Also I grow up in Wimbledon.

Villa obviously.

My first game was in 1992 against Oldham, I went with my uncle and we lost 1-0 handing the title to united in the process.

I was hooked.

Football

Fabian Delph is a banana split.
