L4D2 announced for PS3 with Wand Support

L4D2 popped up on EA's site for PS3 before being pulled. It may or may not be coming.

if on the ea website then its pretty sure to come to the ps3 but id rather play on pc with keyboard and mouse

That's not how game development works. EA haven't touched the source engine since then. It might be improved because EA London have experience with source, but then again they struggled to get Ep2 to work on ps3, and the engine has moved on since then.

Hmm never heard of that MMA game being announced.

Will keep an eye on that one.

Not quite right. They couldn't be arsed to get it working on PlayStation3. Source could run on it no problem.

I wouldn't call them eagle-eyed you'd need to be blind, deaf, dumb, have an addiction to pinball and be called Tommy just to have a small chance of not noticing that.

That's not how game development works.

I was referring to how the standards the publisher requires of its PS3 ports before they'll let them be released has been raised.

I guess that means it was a mistake and it isn't coming to the PS3.

Could have been a mistake, rectified when EA heard from the Internets that the entry was on there. After all, the people populating that list with content will have fuck-all to do with the top brass.

On the other hand, it could be that something similar to the EA internal port of the Orange Box is happening and will be formally announced if it's going well.

Too early to tell at this point, although I hope that PS3 folk do get a version of L4D2 - it's going to be awesome.

But Coolie, to say that EA "couldn't be arsed" with Ep 2 on PS3 is hilariously naive. Their port time was probably truncated, and Source is doubtless more of a bitch to get running well on PS3 than 360 due to the architecture on the MS console being a lot closer to a PC.

Except it won't.

If it comes out it'll be an internal EA port and as such, won't have any fancy extras over the 360 version.

Also, it's just as possible that the listing was removed because the game isn't supposed to be officially announced yet. But you'd have to be some sort of raging optimist to even consider that possibility.

I'm hopeful it'll come to PS3 and that it'll fully support mods, but didn't the same site put up some boxart for Left 4 Dead 1 on PS3?

Or was it a magazine?

Meh, the first one was so damn repetitive on 360, I doubt the sequel will be any different unless they decide to allow the release of mods as DLC.
