There's the tap B to open a heavy door bit from LOTR
There's the helicopter race bits from Batman 2

I love lego games btw, Its just after a few you tend to see that there's a lot of copy and pasting going on behind the scenes.

Having played virtually none of the other Lego games, this oughta be good.

Wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

I'd like to personally call out the reviewer responsible...

...oh no wait, we can't. Because here in 2013 EDGE still insist on hiding their identities.

Seems like this is going to average around the 80 out of 100 mark when all the reviews are in. Which is actually quite good.

The IGN and CVG reviews are up.

Reading that at review it makes the review seem like a bit of a joke. It mentions that a lot of references are to films that children will not likely have seen, but then goes on to complain there's nothing in it for adults. Also complaining about there's no uses for the gamepad, yet it displays the minimap meaning it's off TV and that's a good enough use for a game like this IMO.

I don't understand.

I'm going to make a gay prediction that Gamespot's review will be scathing and no higher than 6.0.

Apparently you can only download this from the eShop if you have an external hard drive.

In the unlikely event that were true I'd suspect it would only be on the basic 8GB model.

I was going to wait until Pikmin to get my Wii U but I have to say this game is tempting me to jump in earlier than planned. It looks phenomenal

The loading times sound terrible. Hopefully that is something they can improve with a patch. I think some of the criticism of the lack of co-op is silly. It would be a nice addition but it's a single player game. Wouldn't be critical of a Zelda or Metroid for the same reason.

That point about kids not getting the film references seems to fail to realise that kids might well find the game amusing because, you know, it might be amusing in its own right.

LEGO games always have co-op though, so its omission from City is quite the brow-crinkler.

I understand it's open world an' that, and the gameplay looks far more involving than usual LEGO fare, but it's a series staple.

But this game seems a lot more character focused on Chase than previous games where you were just swapping out characters at will.

Who would player 2 actually play as?

Maybe a sequel could have a Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson rip off duo?
