I hope it's 3. But think it'll be 2... "Internet required" and all that :shifty: .

The most pertinent question, have they done anything to improve the load times?

It's not very well worded a statement, is it? They're basically saying "if you buy the game at retail you don't have to download it". That could still mean it needs to download a substantial update before it's playable, though.

They could have done it so it is playable but without the update a bunch of levels or areas are not there.

This is my expectation. You can technically play it in some form without downloading, but to get the full game you'll need to download extra.

If it was clearcut that the entire game was on the cart, they would say it.

The vagueness of the statement says it all. They're just trying to put a positive spin on it.

Latest update, seems full game is on the cart and the packaging wording is incorrect thankfully

Will pick this up on Switch soon me thinks

So the whole thing was "fake news"!

I guess the moral of the story is - don't believe any of the rubbish they post on NeoGaf...

It's not really fake news, Andy. The game packaging has "internet required" printed on the front of it and "13 Gb download storage space required" on the back. It seems like rather an odd "mistake" for Warner to make; especially as only around 7 Gb of data is on the cart. They must be using some terrific form of compression as even the U version is about 19 Gb.

Guess I'll re-pre-order now at Smyths.

Good stuff. Glad it turned out to be bollocks, though I can understand where the confusion has came from.

Back on for Lego City Undercover!

Confusing box art causes confusion. Messy.

How does that sort of mistake ever happen, did no one at all proof check it ...

Steam reviews have not been kind to this :( Hopefully it gets patched up by the time I'm ready to move on from BotW and start another open world game.

Loads still seem a bit too long on Switch

My PS4 copy from Base.com has shipped, so I think I'll be able to check load times tomorrow. I've been reading they're the same as Switch though.
To be honest, although I will play it, it's mainly for my son and he won't even notice waiting a few extra seconds than normal.
£33.85 in the end, by the way, which I think was the cheapest price about.

From what I've read, this is a huge missed opportunity.

All they needed to do was cut the load times to a few seconds, get rid of the pop-up and sharpen up a few things...

It sounds like a pretty lazy port, which carries over all the problems of the (admittedly great) first game.
